Probably smashing Top Chef contestants at the Judges Table down south? I don’t know what you want me to say here. This sucks, he was great.
Celebrity suicide will always get a wtf from me. You have the money to fix whatever your imbalance is, whether physical, psychological, emotional, etc, all
Glad to know all we need to do is inject money directly into the brain to fix mental illness EDIT: Sorry, to fix your "imbalance".
I hope you, or the ones you love, never go through depression, mental instability, or anything of the like. We all wish it was that easy, but it’s not, and it’s unbelievably ignorant and naive to think such.
It's amazing that all these MENTALLY ILL people don't magically wake up in the morning with the self-awareness to go "you know what, dammit, I'm feeling so "imbalanced" that I just need to go get this fixed right away."
Replace “imbalance” with “tumor” and think about how fucking stupid this sounds. That’s how you sound to everyone who isn’t a waterhead right now.
Great content deliverer. I get the feeling that if I ever sat in a room with him I would have wanted to punch him in the face though. Sucks terribly about his passing yet really does not change my day, weekend or year.
Thing is, some do. It's not as cut and dry as "once you have mental illness you're a goner...it's only a matter of time." Some do get help and survive...probably the bulk majority do because of the people around them. Mental illness isn't a death sentence, but yeah it's extremely complicated.
Holy shit, apparently Eric Ripert is the one that found him, and he was in France filming an episode of one of his shows.
Incredibly sad. Bourdain surely introduced many to the joys of cuisine, travel, and sarcasm. Goodnight, sweet Prince. RIP, Chef.
It’s a dynamic thing. Many people do get help, do control it, and still end up losing control. There’s not a “cure” or “fix.” A brief loss of control is all that it takes.
Really sad. Love Bourdain's show and writing. He recently divorced his wife and was dating Asia Argento.
If he would have replaced the word 'fix' with 'treat' in his posts, he'd be spot on. But I think you and I are p much on the same page with our thinking.
