I’m actually surprised. I’m even more surprised that Bourdain would stay in a relationship with her after learning of it. However, I suppose that she could have given him a different version of the event.
Her hypocrisy is bad, but I want to say there are lots of studies that say that victims of sexual abuse are more likely to abuse others.

Asia, at one point, seems to contradict her claim she never had a sexual relationship with Bennett, saying, "It wasn't raped (sic) but I was frozen. He was on top of me. After he told me I had been his sexual fantasy since he was 12."

Older lady has reignited her fading star somewhat by claiming rape at the hands of of a rich, powerful guy she had an extended relationship with. 17yo is now a poor 24yo and realizes he can get paid if he plays the victim because the chick will be exposed as a hypocrite and lose her newfound relevance. Lady gets her decent, hopelessly in love boyfriend to pay off the guy (and claims quasi-rape). Then she publicly cheats on and ridicules the emotionally fragile bf and he kills himself. I like how it's both a burlesque of modern times and eternal human nature.
it certainly would be to me. Or at least, to put it differently, it would be vastly less disturbing to me if she didnt know the guy continuously from his early childhood and she didnt play a quite prominent role in his life from that age onwards afaik. If a guy aged 45 is boning a 20 year old thats kinda okay for me, if that same 20 year old is a friend of his daughter or something like that and he knew here from age 7 it becomes really really creepy to me
Are we talking about statutory rape here? not having an NDA doesn't mean it wasn't hush money lol. Besides witness tampering (from Bourdain), it's illegal in many states to take money in exchange for not reporting a crime (meaning young kid would catch a charge). Not to mention ppl don't confess to actual crimes in NDA's if they have any common sense. Regardless, an NDA isn't binding if it's intent is to cover up a real crime.
