Other than the last year or 2, I don’t remember AB being known for anything other than being an awesome football player.
Since most people are somewhere around 30, the helmet he wants to swear is the Schutt one with the super stiff pad in the front that spans your entire forehead, which predates the Revolution, Schutt DNA, etc. The one that feels like your head has to reshape in order to wear it for more than an hour the first time you put it on. Then eventually you either get used to it or your head actually does get reshaped.
AB isn't quitting over a helmet, although the idea of him taking an old helmet and painting it to pass off as a Raiders one is hilarious. I want to see that helmet.
