Just recently read it and I ripped through it. Fucking loved it. Not a newer release, but I definitely recommend it.
Takes place in Brooklyn, Vermont and a little of San Fran during brief periods in the 70's, 80's 90's. Story of two writers who meet in a bar during a snowstorm and become best friends and the narrator gets involved in the Brooklyn culture of the 70's and 80's. Narrator's best friend has an accident and changes his life and becomes a character based on the Unabomber. lots of sex in it as well. Really enjoyed it.
It's been on the my TRL for a while, someone told me it was the best book they ever read. The thing that has kept me from reading it is that the plot sounds "meh" to me. However, so did Art of Racing in the Rain, and I loved that. Should suggest it for next months book club imo.
