The bluff by Miles? Agree but at the same time he wasn't all that strong a flush just hit. It definitely stunk though. If Cynn was a little stronger, it's probably a call. Just to call off most of your stack with a pair of 4's.

Impressive comeback for Miles after going down 2 to 1 in chips.

Hellmuth, more than 6 hours into heads-up play: "I think Cynn is going to win this easily."

Side note on why Deeb is probably railing for Miles. Deeb played a tournament here about 8-10 years ago. He made it to the final and the dealer was a girl named Ashley. He's now married to Ashley. Same place Miles plays so I assume Miles knows Deebs through her bc he was here a lot when they were dating. Small world.

Miles floating the turn for $10.5m with 87dd on a K432r board? With a stack of about $100m? Oof.

It was also 5 am after 10 hours of heads up play and a couple more hours of three-handed play on day 10 of an event for $8.8 million, I'll cut him a little slack

Miles showed his true colors after the last hand. Upset with Cynn, who seems like the nicest, most genuine guy in the world. And then complaining about fatigue in his interview. STFU, you're a pretty terrible player who luckboxed your way to $5 million. Be grateful.

I thought both played well. You don't go 8 hours heads up without that. Miles was able to win big pots with aggression but Cynn was able to chip away between those big hands. Impressive battle for both.

Predictable response. Just because you sat with the guy once ten years ago, you don't have to come to his defense. His attitude was piss poor, and he went on the run of his life. I'd expect a little bit more of a humble approach in his interview.

Saying Cynn was the better player is fair. Saying Miles is a terrible players is laughable. He went 8 hours with a world class player. Miles made several incredible plays to keep it going. You can say he could have handled the interview after a 10 hour grind better without saying dumb shit yourself.

Don't feel like getting in a pissing match with you, but Miles was pretty bad. I liked Cynn a lot, but I'm not sure I'm calling him a world class player. I'm not sure why it's relevant they went 8 hours when they started with roughly 100 bbs each when it got to head up. Allows for a ton of play, especially with two guys that weren't very aggro until the blinds forced them to be. Is poker what Miles does for a living? Because I just looked up his Hendon Mob results and he had $54,333 in total earnings over the past 7 years. You're not making a living with those types of results.

We have different definitions of world class. You're using a sample size of two. His GPI rank is #4,772. Would you feel outmatched sitting across from either of those guys? You seem to play quite a bit (as do I), and there's nothing I've seen from those guys (reading ability, switching gears, ultra aggression, whatever) that would make me feel inferior. Cynn even said he's never ran as well as he did the past week. Super happy for him, I was rooting for him when they got down to 2-3 tables. The right guy won.

If you sit at the table with Cynn and dont realize he's a vastly superior player, you're either A) severely overrating your play, B) should play poker for a living, or C) just really dumb. That's the only 3 options. Any player on the planet has to have the greatest run of their life to win a 7k entry tournament. Cynn has finished 11th and 1st in the last 3 MEs. Nobody runs THAT good to just luck into an 11th and 1st place in 3 years. Its laughable that you think of yourself on his level.

This is either a) results oriented b) recency bias or c) lack of reading comprehension. That’s the only 3 options. Or it could be all 3.

Rainier Kempe registered for the One Drop Million Dollar before the start of Day 2 and was out 20 minutes later. His queens ran into David Einhorn's aces, all in before the flop. Pretty no one other than Einhorn or other billionaires owns their entire action but impressive way to blow through a million dollars.

I didn't read the whole thread, but one of my friends helped to sponsor Miles' $10,000 buy in ($1,000). I have no idea why he needed sponsorship for $10,000, but suffice to say, my friend hit the jackpot. He went to South Carolina and was the guy Miles said, "Not during the hand", or something like that, when my friend yelled some drunken jibberish on National TV.

Idk how much he sold but it sounds like a lot.

Tony Miles essentially called his deep run in the World Series of Poker Main Event.

Miles was so confident in his game that he urged his close friends to back him in the $10,000 buy-in No-limit Texas Hold ’em World Championship for a percentage of his profits.

“I thought I had been playing really well, so I reached out to people really close to me and asked them to invest because I thought that I could make a run in this this year,” said Miles, 32. “A bunch of my friends have pieces of me in this.”

These small field high roller events that amount to 2-3 table sng’s, where two dozen of the players are backed by the same couple of syndicates, or they all swap pieces with each other, chop the prizes pools - just not as impressive to me as some previous tournament runs, like Negreanu’s ‘04.
