picked it up yesterday, brings back memories. Reallly having fun with it. IGN gave it a 9 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1219448p1.html Gamespot gave it an 8.5 http://www.gamespot.com/ssx/reviews/ssx-review-6351151/
Played the demo earlier...liked it same as I did the first one.. But it was basically the same as the very first one. Not sure I'd play it for more than a few days
I think it's fun, brings back old memories. There's a demo on Xbox live and PSN if you want to try it out.
It's definitely fun...the xbox live element is nice as well because you dont need to be on at the same time to compete against friends. You can shadow their runs against yours, I think
definitely gonna check it out from gamefly after i get over mass effect 3 mania then looked at some reviews, looks solid
I'm addicted to the demo. Hit 11,000,000 on a run and can't stop trying to best that. I love the online element.
The new SSX is very close to SSX 3 as far as how it plays. Im sure there are a lot of people out there who would rather have something closer to Tricky (including the crazy tracks with multiple 'laps') but i personally loved SSX 3 more than any other game in the series. The Race and Trick courses are awesome...the Survive courses are kind of annoying but I still find myself not giving up on them until i finish. I just wish they wouldve thrown in a couple of superpipes and amybe i missed it but it doesnt look like there is a freeride option on drops...but overall if you liked SSX 3 before, this is a really fun game.
Yeah but nothing beats the 3 peak race on SSX 3. Besides, SSX tricky had all of 2 new maps in the game.
I started with Tricky so the 2 new maps thing didnt matter for me. ALl Peaks was damn fun. I still have the game and would play it on my 360 time to time.
so the more i play SSX, a couple of nagging things. Preface: i love the game...just wish a couple of things: 1. Enough of the cliffs on non Survive It tracks. Nothing more annoying than starting a new run and falling off a cliff i didnt see 2. Love/hate relationship with the topography. On one hand, its really cool tech that the runs are based on real mountains. And because of that, im sure the dev team included dozens of more runs than they would have had they been creating each drop from scratch. But on the other hand, some of these runs are just annoying - mainly the ones with the cliffs. But even that said, I still tough it out and take the time to finish them all. 3. I feel like my character is going too fast to control. This just needs a little tweaking..but maybe id be able to not fall off as many cliffs if i had a bit more control of my snowboarder.
Yea it's nuts but I expected it. Just look at some of the ssx 3 videos on YouTube. I just like competing against my friends.
Ssx is a game I can play casually for fun more than other sports games. I'll play this on and off for a while. I wonder what the DLC might be. I wish they'd have a superpipe
Oh don't get me wrong. It's great, however, I've conquered all 9 peaks and the online portion will only hold your interest for so long.
Shit I conquered all 9 peaks in a few days..but like he says: It's a good game to have handy because you can spend 15 minutes playing it just now and then and still enjoy it.
Just take my money.... cant wait for the halfpipe drop. been craving that. http://www.ea.com/ssx/blog/announcing-classic-ssx-dlc You can even get these elements separately in the SSX Mt. DLC looks insane. Bought it yesterday but only had time to jump into the first run once (one of the Trick it drops). It takes 72,000,000 for a gold medal. Best part is no cliffs to fall of of....just nonstop ramps, rails, and fireworks.
