Still working on that first win, getting to where I average a kill or more per match. Out of 10 matches I've placed 2nd squad 5 times.
Damn love this game so far, best BR out there. The gameplay is basic and smooth, and not full of cheese. Was able to jump in and get 5 kills my first game and win my second. Had a ton of crashes though, so now I have a 2080ti playing on the shittiest graphics settings.
Carried a team last night. Both were under lvl 5 so they weren't really doing much. Saved their ass multiple times with the Bangalore smoke. Switched over to game chat to tell lifeline to drop his ultimate, and realized they were both young kids trying to learn the game. Watched wraith struggle for a minute or so trying to get on the roof of a building where I tagged armor for them. Ended up spending the game teaching them some of the basics (climbing walls, sliding, ults, accelerants for lifeline, etc). We finished 2nd and they ended up getting downed in every battle we got in. I had 8 kills, and downed 2 from the last squad. Felt like I had a fan club cheering me on
Won my first two matches last night, I was with some guys in the mid-20s level, but I kept pace with them on kills more or less. Except that second win where the Bangalore guy dropped over 2000 damage. I think that game we had a combined 19 kills. Feels so good to get that first W though, even if the champion/victory royale screen is not the most climactic.
one thing that grinds my gears is finishing 2nd all the time and watching these assholes defile my dead body! i guess i'm too old to get teabagging anymore. that shit was funny 10 years ago, not anymore! get off my lawn
self res is not often even useful. the cast time is too long and you come back with too little health. one or the other should be adjusted.
which is the better option, recharge shield first, or make sure full health? a lot would have to do with which shield you have... but often in fights where i'm near death idk if i should fill my health first, or just fill my shield and get back in the fight.
I think it's fine the way it is. Being able to get up at all, even as rare as that may be, is pretty big. I actually won a game because of it last night. Was just an extremely fortunate set of circumstances (the biggest being that I was moving pretty fast on a hillside with some cliff cover when I went down so I slid really far down the hill when I went down and the enemies couldn't find me) but that was a W that doesn't happen without the self-revive. Was able to get myself up, Phoenix, smoke my teammates' crates, grab their banners, get out, and get to a respawn beacon.
Frustrating end to my lunch hour playing. I turned a corner and suddenly came upon a Lifeline and Pathfinder, I downed the Pathfinder but the Lifeline just got me and finished me. Watched my dumbass teammate try to come recover me, gets shot from the right and then the left, decides to focus fire on the downed Pathfinder, dies, game over. Why do people do this?
have mained Gibraltar since i started playing and haven't rly played anyone else. decide to try wraith for the first time and end up winning and getting 5 kills first attempt. she is fucking strong
Damage is really easy to get in this game though, the weapons are so accurate that you get a large amount of poke damage from a distance that's usually nullified by healing/res. The TTK is high enough that people don't fear taking damage. I'm not complaining about either but it makes sense why high damage games aren't rare.
Stop lying, this game came out in 2019, quit trying to be a hipster about this "oh I peaked in this game back in 1974, I developed the code this game was based on, pfffft"
Played this on ps4 earlier. I suck at aiming with a controller but I still had fun. Will download on my pc
I'm interested to see what they do with it. It's not as OP on console. Also, the Wingman has always been like this in Respawn's games (Titanfall and Titanfall 2) and no one complained. Now one of their games is extremely popular and everyone wants to neuter it.
I was just about to say something about how well optimized and polished it is but the game just crashed in a way that required me to restart my pc lol
I kind of wish there was an option for single play, maybe in a reduced section of the map and maybe without class abilities
Semi-related, but I wonder if EA and Epic share user data in some way. I don't think I've ever gotten a Fortnite promo email but I got one about 30 mins after installing this game
