Ringer and Alert volume constantly turning itself down on ios 13 is maddening. I've turned off Change with Buttons and Attention Aware Features and it still randomly turns down to where you can barely hear it.
I use Anker. You could just try messaging them, I've heard anecdotally that their support is pretty good.
Target has them. I got 4 10’ on clearance last summer for like $9 each because they’re the past season’s shade of taupe.
Monoprice, they mark all their cables, and lifetime warranty, so call them, find any random box, and send em back when they die after a couple years. I am holding off buying too many new lightning cables, apparently next year they are moving to the USB-C version charging cable which I can not wait for.
I'm having an issue with my Apple TV. Any time I put it to sleep I can't turn it back on with the remote. If I unplug the power source and plug it back in it works fine. The remote is charged and paired with it. I can't figure out what the issue is. Anyone have a similar problem?
You have no idea how happy this post makes me. After the update, you can only turn it on w the TV button on the right. You cant just press anywhere on the remote anymore. it took me a while to figure that out, and also annoyingly was unplugging/replugging it in to turn it on. Glad I’m not the only one lol
that irritates me too - I always have to push the menu button to turn mine on now instead of anywhere on the track pad
So now unless I disable Bluetooth on my S4 watch in addition to putting it on airplane mode I'll still get calls and emails on my watch? Also not a fan of trying to just plug my phone in to charge while driving and getting repeated popups asking if I want to connect to carplay. They should try to make it less obvious that the new update tries to drain a battery faster.
I can ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ my apple TVs always freeze though. I have to press the menu/tv button simultaneously to hard reset almost daily.
If you don’t want to use CarPlay and just want to get power, stop plugging into the USB port and plug into the lighter jack instead.
Yea I invested in a USB-C to lighting connector and picked up an Anker usb c power port. Pretty impressed with the speed it charges. USB-C to USB-C should be quite a bit faster.
As far as I know, in my very limited electronics wisdom, an 18W power delivery charger will charge at the same speed over USB-C regardless of if the other end of the cable is lightning or USB-C
The USB-C spec is capable of more watts than Lightning spec (100 vs 12), but it's also a question of what the AC/DC adapter and device are designed to handle.
Yea this basically. The USB-C connector is CAPABLE of delivering more power than a lightning connection. However if it’s plugged into a usb-a adapter it’s not going to do shit.
This is so dumb I did a hard reset this morning. Glad I will need to redownload everything now for nothing.
Need a laptop and am leaning towards a Mac. I’m just going to be doing basic stuff. Any suggestions on which one to get? Any sales for Black Friday that we know of?
I've had a MacBook standard or whatever you want to call it for 3 years. Great for internet, Excel, and the size is ideal for travel.
Look into a preowned MacBook Pro. That’s what I did and it has worked out really well. Super cheap compared to new as well, even after some upgrades.
A refurbished what though? MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air? I would get a chromebook or one of the cheap Dells or Acers, but those things are so slow.
I use mac for home use and pc at work, but god I hate the fucking windows OS so much, it's boring and clunky.
Upgraded to iPhone 11 from 8 and went usb-c for charging it and iPad Pro. I can tell a huge difference but the iPad with a 30w brick has been great.
Right AirPod just lost the main ear canal speaker. Worked fine, case for 2 hours ish, then no sound on the right except the little side speaker. chat support says they’ll sell me a new one for $74. Barely a year old.
We have an annoying guy in our fantasy football group text that gets removed from the group message once a week It says he keeps adding himself back after being removed, how in the hell does he do this?
this is my life and it is the WOAT but IT guys at large institutions who only know Windows protect their job security by claiming Macs aren’t suited to it
The most annoying thing about switching back and forth from your personal Mac and work windows machine is that the command button on Mac and control on windows essentially have the same function, but they’re in different spots on the keyboard
Turned out my AirPod was just way more wax plugged than I could clean. Apple store cleaned it with what I believe to be an Egyptian archeological recovery toolkit and the sound is back.
kinda bullshit they had AirPods 1 out for 27 months before AirPods 2, and now six months between AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro.
me when the AirPods came out: they don’t cancel noise and don’t use sealing tips, no thanks glad I waited
$250? Hard pass. There are others available from reputable brands with noise cancellation for far less than that.
I’ve had AirPods for 2yrs or so. Received as a gift. Didn’t think I would use them much. I use the daily since the day I got them. Put them in my pocket along with my knife as keys every morning. Noise canceling and the clear listening feature are the two things I wish my airpods did. Might break down and buy these new ones.
The only reason I use AirPods now is the functionality and convenience. They tend to come loose and the sound sucks. The pros hopefully could save from switching to Bose sound sport when I want better sound. Much less convenient.
