My phone started doing the thing where it doesnt switch to the twitter app and and just opens a new page. It’s incredibly annoying

 

This seems to be random for me and I don’t know what it will do each time I click on a tweet

 

I have an apple leather iPhone case in cornflower blue. It’s getting a lot of black patina. Not sure if it’s surface grime or actual discoloration. I can’t get it back to looking new. It’s not an attractive patina.

the hd is a little small, but my wife basically has the same one and I think thats about what I paid for it a few years ago.

 

FYI. Sold my AirPods 2 on eBay for $90

a bit less than eBay claimed but you can buy new 2s for less now. Saw $129 on amazon

Anyone go with the 11 Pro Max and regret it?

Telecomms guy found out we can trade in our XS’ for $600. 11 Pro is $550 and 11 Pro Max is $650. Trying to decide if it would be worth it to shell out $50 for the Max.

For reference I have small to medium sized hands.

 

I have big hands and the Pro can be rough to use one handed. Pro Max seems like too much

The battery specs of the max made the choice incredibly easy for me. Phone never feels huge.

 

My only regret is the midnight green doesn’t really look green

The battery life on the regular iPhone 11 is ridiculous. If I’m under 50% when I go to bed it’s because I spent way too much damn time on my phone or I went traveling and went through a bunch of area with pitiful to non-existent cell service.

 

Battery life on the Pro Max Phat Chonk is first time since pre-smartphone days when I just can’t be bothered. It’s liberating. I don’t even monitor battery throughout the day

 

My iPhone X needs to be plugged in by afternoon. And it was replaced last May (AppleCare)

Same, the 11 life is great. The Pixel 3 I had before this would be lucky to be at 50% when I got off work and I’m not even allowed to use it at work. iPhone 11 is normally 90+%

 

Has anyone seen any really really good black friday deals on iphones? Wife still has an 8+ and wants to upgrade. I can't convince her to wait til next year for the new one.

Help me out. We are in the market for a new Mac book. Wife’s died.

she needs 1TB of storage...how hard is it to upgrade HdmD storage? Bc this is the cheapest I have found for a MacBook.

 

It’s gonna be really expensive. You can’t switch out hard drives anymore. Basically you just have to buy one that has a 1TB installed. It’s gonna be a lot.

why does she need 1TB ?

 

work shit. She is a dentist and needs to be able to keep files on it, etc, that take up a bunch of space.

Possibly. She keeps patients records and xrays on it. We have It st up now that on Friday, when she leaves, it automatically downloads all her cases for the following week.

I’m sure there is a better way to do it, but I doubt it’s worth me teaching her a new way.

Everything I’ve read says you should bump to the 256gb. The money is worth it.

 

128GB is incredibly limiting on a laptop. So is 256 IMO, but it is better.

 

If you require 512 or above, you’re probably looking at a MBP and not an Air anyway

 

I get by with 128GB on my MacBook. Anything of importance, like all of my amazing graphic design artwork, I put on an external HD or keep in the cloud.

 

Im going to Costco tonight and getting that Air for my mom. Also, to get more blocks of cheese Tiffin

 

what's the block cheese of choice from there? I always feel overwhelmed looking at it.

Since you can’t really rely on cloud storage due to patient confidentiality, you should really grab an external thunderbolt/USB 3 drive. It’ll be cheaper and also redundant in case something happens to the laptop. I’m sure for black Friday you can get a 2 TB/3 TB one for about $150-200

 

I’ll add to that, I think it costs ~$600 to upgrade to 1TB w Apple

 

she’ll need to make sure the external drive is fully encrypted if she wants to store patient data on it.

 

Since I know my guy captbunch is writing this off as a business expense I say go hog wild with a 5 TB
