I haven't. One router for the 12 different units, all of which likely share the same bandwidth. If I fuck with it, I could fuck with theirs accidentally. Still, ~15mbps ± sucks.
I ask as my dad was using a provided router at one point and I needed to forward some ports. He had nothing written down, so I googled the model number, found the manual and checked the default password. I went over to the laptop and slowly typed in "password" and hit enter. Boom, logged right in. I slowly facepalmed.
I bought this one to use at the GF's place and no complaints yet. Watch Charger 2 in 1 Apple iWatch...
New condo final inspection is Thursday. When I move my cable over can I use Apple TV 4K box as my spectrum box and get rid of the spectrum boxes? Going for a clean look and I can mount that on the back of the tv out of the way with only a bit of the bottom sticking down to receive signal from remote
No, the new native Apple app. I’ve been using the embedded shortcuts when holding down on an app, but I’m a little overwhelmed by the gallery.
spectrum gave me a weird answer but they said Apple TV would work as my cable box as long as somewhere in the house I had a spectrum cable box plugged in
they have an appletv app that lets you watch live and on-demand tv as long as you have a spectrum box connected to the same wifi
That makes sense. although if Im paying for cable, im using it to watch TV lol. Just for sports. The biggest annoyance of streaming services and sports is the delay.
I have spectrum and the setup is handy. As long as you’re connected to the spectrum home WiFi and have the spectrum tv service with the box hooked up, any spectrum app you login to detects the tv service and automatically logs you in without needing to provide username/password credentials
I don’t care about renting the boxes I care about the Apple box being a tenth the size of the giant spectrum box
Watched about half of the first episode of their news show. I won’t be renewing once my trial is over
I have the 4th Gen Apple TV and if I dont have a good enough line of site, button presses dont register.
This is correct. Powering your tv on and changing the sound is IR. Doing anything Apple TV related is Bluetooth. It’s why you occasionally see a “remote disconnected” because it’s Bluetooth.
Hell I can power the TV on with my phone. If I can completely hide the small box behind the TV and change the Apple TV still I’m sold
I love the Apple TV and hate the roku UI. I’m sure some of it is just what I’m use to. The one thing that makes Apple TV worth it is when you have to find an illegal stream for PACN or a soccer match you can stream it to the TV easily.
I have 4 Apple TV’s in my home and really like them but they aren’t made for a ton of use imo. Mine will freeze all the time and I’ll have to reset them. I’ve tried both 2.4 and 5g WiFi networks and the same things happen
the benefit of a remote is having something that is immediately available and can be navigated by touch only. A phone provides none of that. I use my phone as a remote sometimes but it's shitty compared to a good remote.
What do people not like about the apple remote? My only criticism is there's no mute button. That sucks. Otherwise I like it quite a bit. I do not particularly enjoy using my phone, when the remote is too far away and IM too lazy to grab it.
