so the battery on my 2012 mb pro is in its dying stages. I know apple doesnt sell them any longer, but anyone have recs on decent brands? looking on amazon there are a ton of different ones, so just trying to make sure I dont end up with one that swells or blows up after I install it.
Hell, if I can ever get hands on the new SE to see how I like it I might just buy it and sell my iPhone 11 and just have some extra spending cash. I’m thinking the screen size is going to be too small for me though, I prefer the 5.5” range. iPhone 11 Pro is a nice compromise at 5.8” but no way was I ever going to pay a thousand fucking dollars for a phone.
SMC & NVRAM reset after that, you'd wanna test it in safe mode (hold shift while turning on) if it still does it after that, create a test user and test it in there if it still does it after those 3, boot to recovery (cmd+r while turning on) and use the "get help online" which is a safari browser and see if it does it there if it still does it, then try a re-install but do a backup first if it still does it after that, then you'd wanna do an erase & install and try it again without migrating any data (or you could create a second partition and test it on that) if it still does it after that, it's hardware
So I’m a technology imbecile just bought the AirPod Pros, whats the best thing about these ? Can I pretty leave them in my ears all day at work and it will easily transition between phone calls and Spotify ?
theyll last longer if you turn off the noise cancelling transparency mode is great if you are out in the world
and the case itself charges it up pretty quick from what I am told? Another dumb question do they have like a find ur iPhone type feature? I’m sure I’ll misplace one
Yes but it doesn’t work as well like the phone because it relies on the Bluetooth connection to your phone instead of having its own wifi/LTE. It also doesn’t have a loud external speaker to make the ping noise. yes they charge pretty quick in the case, it’s impressive.
Awesome thank you! My parents live abroad and their iPhone 4s died (yes I gave it to them 7 years ago) and I bought them a iPhone 8 and decided to buy these guys too so I’m stoked to finally wear some modern earphones instead of the standard issue Apple ones
I know I was getting roasted by my coworkers at work and my wife at home......no one had actually seen someone besides me wear them everyday
What email app do you use? I keep having problems with the default mail app not refreshing in the background and I refuse to use Gmail until I get access to dark mode on it.
Depends, what would your usage be? Unless it’s something Apple specific, you’re probably just better off getting a Roku or a Fire TV if you can stand the horrific Fire UI I have one I got for Christmas but doubt I’d ever spend that much on one if it was my own money.
I find it worth it just for how smooth it operates. We have an Apple TV in the bedroom and a Roku TV in our living room. Night and day difference.
It does indeed suck. I’m just glad I have a Logitech Harmony remote with hub even though it seems like Logitech doesn’t really give a shit about this segment of their business anymore.
Also, just about any IR remote that has directional buttons can be used to control the Apple TV. You’ll be limited with what you can do, like most things that require a double click or to long click a button won’t work, and it will have the usual line of sight downfalls that IR remotes always have. But it will accomplish the basics.
I just checked if there’s even a “find my remote” option and this is from Apple’s official site: You need a remote to control your Apple TV. If you lost the remote that came with your Apple TV, you can control your Apple TV with your iOS device or buy a new remote.
how are you liking it? I have the keyboard folio so I don’t know if I should try the new one. I have a Magic Trackpad and I paired it to see how it worked. Interesting concept on the iPad
The only good thing about the remote is the voice control. If I could voice control with any IR remotes id switch.
You need a rubber casing for it, not so much for protection but so as it to make it more easily recognizable and that it doesn’t say slip in between couch cushions
Had no idea people hated the remote so much. My biggest issue is that the buttons stick if you get any kind of food or drink residue on it. Always need to wipe it down with rubbing alcohol or they stick like all hell.
Actually enjoy it a lot. I’ve been using my iPad Pro as my main “computer” for over a year now and this just makes it better.
I just purchased the Powerbeats Pro and pretty excited about them. First wireless headset for me. For those that have them, have you had any issues with them? I noticed on Reddit people have had connectivity and charging issues. Looks like I need to get AppleCare+ for them.
Seems to be a common issue. Does the hassle outweigh the experience? Like should I even keep them, or just get AppleCare+ and I will likely be ok?
For anyone that was waiting. https://9to5mac.com/2020/05/04/appl...-pro-with-magic-keyboard-doubles-ssd-storage/
Maybe once every few weeks I'll go to use them and one isn't charged. Biggest thing is just making sure they're snug when you put them back in. Good news is you can get them up to 50%+ in just a few minutes. Have had a few instances where I go to use them and one just doesn't connect. I've simply put them back in the case and then immediately take them out and that usually takes care of it. Did have to do one hard reset about 6 months in when I couldn't get them to connect at all, but all things considered, relatively minor issues for how comfortable they are. Best headphones I've ever had for running by far.
I love mine. Way better than AirPods Pro. I’ve had zero issues. Did take me a minute to figure out how they go in the case. Battery life is amazing. Love the volume adjustment and I never have to touch them given the ear loop. AirPods Pro always slowly slide out.
