I was in the same boat initially but once I saw the mini announcement I was all in. I fuggin hate the phablet craze and phones being big AF lately. I have wanted a smaller phone with smaller bezels and full screen for years. Mini looks perfect. I’ve already ordered/received new case and it seems like a perfect size.
The update has been really buggy on my phone. It keeps disconnecting from WiFi and my Apple Watch update has been "verifying" for the past 3 days.
I can’t even upgrade my watch series 3 to the new watch os because it says I don’t have enough storage. I’ve cleared like all the apps off the watch even tho I barely had any to begin with.
I don’t know about the watch, but I had a weird issue like that with my iPhone not too long ago. The “System” category in the storage menu was showing like 90% usage. Someone online recommended hooking my phone up to my laptop and perform a backup through iTunes manually and somehow that worked. I don’t know if it just caches an insane amount of memory over time in the OS.
It does, has been that way for years. You used to have to factory reset to get rid of all of it (then just restore all of your data).
You have to unpair and then it will update when you repair it to your phone. I had the exact same issue.
I think there is a new new update to address that issue with the new update. I had to unpair and repair to update it Friday and it mentioned addressing random reboots on the series three. Good luck...
I got a Series 6 coming so I’m not too worried, thanks for letting me know though! I hadn’t checked the description on the 7.0.3 update yet
My 128GB 12 was delivered on Friday, but I just got around to opening it up today. The blue on the back of the phone isn't as fake/plastic/Lego looking as in some of the unboxing videos I saw. I'd prefer the pacific blue on the 12 Pro, but it's not worth the extra money to change colors when it's going to be in a case regardless. Guess I need to do some research on the best magsafe charger. Also, I have to get an adapter for the USB-C to Lightning charging cable? I feel like my dad with how out of touch I am with this technology. Going from a 6S to a 12 is a quantum leap.
ready for a new phone and was planning to wait until black friday for some deals. looked at VZW and orders placed now for the 12 pro are back ordered into late November already. Have a feeling there won't be the traditional BF deals this year if they don't have the supply to meet the current (full price) demand.
thanks self control to have such a new phone upgrade and sit on it for almost a week. Yes you need to get a USB-C charging brick to use the supplied cable. But can use any lightning usb-a cable also you have laying around.
Not a lot of people make that type of jump on here. I was looking to start a support group with him for the technology change he’s about to go through
Just get a USB-A to lightning charge cable and use your regular USB chargers, or buy a USB-C charge brick.
my USB-C cable from my 11 Pro Max lives in my truck because that’s where I usually am when I need a fast charge
I had manually backed up my 6S to my mid-2010 Macbook Pro. I went to load that backup onto my 12 and apparently my Macbook is too old. So I had to purchase 50GB iCloud and back up my 6S then use that to start my 12. However, the actual Verizon cell service isn't working on either phone now. I'm stuck in call service purgatory. Not a great first day.
Shaun actually messages me first thing every day, “good morning on another glorious day that’s about me”
Anyone know what it costs to fix the ear speaker on a iPhone XS Max? I've looked, but can't find much.
I'm still sitting on 6S but planning to pull the trigger soon on a X, 11 or 12, whatever seems to make most sense
0 for me. Battery life has gotten weaker, but not intolerable. I can make it all day with moderate use, have to charge mid-day for heavy use
I believe I got a new battery/refurbished 6S from Apple in early 2017 due to the unexpected shutdown issue that occurred in many 6S. I then dropped that phone in late 2017 and permanently locked myself out of it due to the screen not reading my passcode input correctly. This occurred in Tokyo, so I found an Apple store there that provided me with a refurbished one free of cost. I was on my third 6S and the battery was shit. Maybe lasted all of three hours. I'm on my phone a lot though.
Y’all, you really should be paying for a bigger icloud backup. It’s stupid the default is 5GB or whatever but the 200GB is like $3/month. Pay it.
what happens if your drive fails or your house burns down? Always have more than one backup plan for critical data.
This. At minimum you should have one local and one off-site backup for anything important. And for important stuff that’s not digital, like birth certificate or social security card for enter examples, they should be in a fireproof safe.
Tbh I wouldn’t lose much, if anything, that I couldn’t get on without if my phone and computer went completely toast. I don’t take many pictures, never really look back at them, and pretty much everything else is internet based.
I used an external program on my PC to backup specific messages and whatsapp conversations into PDF files. Then I deleted them from my phone and cloud. Saved a ton of data.
