Does anyone have a 3 in 1 charger they love? Planning to order one for the office and haven’t found one I love yet

 

light spec MacBook Air is $1k. Similar or better spec Windows PC is half that.

apple tax. Or get refurbished or used MacBook

 

any Sonos/iOS users able to get their lockscreen controls to work? per their website it won’t work with other non Sonos airplay devices are connected. for AirPlay devices, we have 2 Apple TVs, 2 TVs, and Apple computers. recommended solution to enable lockscreen is turning off AirPlay on all non Sonos devices (which defeats purpose of having Apple ecosystem imo); I’ve done this a few times and never got it to work. workaround is using other apps and then using AirPlay controls

 

Also 100%. 12 in my place.

 

The MacBook Air is likely to last twice as long as the windows laptop. And if shaolin isn’t too cost sensitive then I don’t see the harm

 

Always go refurb if possible.

My pop finally wants to upgrade his Iphone7. He wants the same size, guessing a mini? Any reason to go beyond the 12 for a guy who plays sudoku and reads the NYT on his phone? He needs an upgrade so he can leverage the new OS for an iWatch.

 

12 mini should be good for him. He’ll notice a major difference right away

 

If he wants the same size then maybe the iphone SE? it's literally the same size/form

Don't know if this product is any good or not, but it's made by a reputable brand in Case-Mate. Looks pretty neat with it being foldable so it would be super transportable. Comes with everything, including the wall charger.



It's on sale for $69.99. Normal price is indeed $150. This seems like an absolute steal.

 

The only place I use a wireless charger is in my car and it’s a MagSafe at up to 15w.

The 14 pro max can charge at almost double that (tests show top end 28w) so I use Anker blocks and usb-c to lighting cables everywhere else.

Which after next year will all be useless since it will be usb-c to usb-c.

Not 3in1 but I have the apple magsafe duo charger for travel that I grabbed for 70$ new on ebay that I'm pretty happy with. It's mostly used for travel. I use the nomad basestation at my desk

 

64 GB space grey. I don’t download a lot of stuff so wasn’t worth the extra for more storage to me.

I haven’t gotten a new iPad since the early minis so it’s going to be quite the leap. That one was relegated to streaming (until it couldn’t) and reading books long ago.

 

find a good deal? I’d like it for kitchen as a Sonos hub and recipes. YouTube etc.

I’m looking to update my 2016 MacBook Pro. I use it regular for work, presentations, looking at CT scans. Maybe some light gaming. MacBook Air or pro?

 

If you get the Air you’re locked into a smaller 13” screen. Probably not ideal for your use case.

 

Eh the screen size hasn’t been an issue really. 2016 is 13” too.

 

iPad has replaced virtually all of my MacBook use… are most of you using it for work?

 

MacOS is fundamentally different than iOS and has its uses.

 

I hope you see this before getting it. We got a midnight Air and it picked up every. single. fingerprint or smudge from your fingers. We returned it within an hour of getting it and switched to Starlight.

I never use my Mac for work now that I am in a job that doesn't necessitate any work from home. I have an iPad that i basically never use now unless I want to read a comic book. Haven't even turned it on in over a month.

also trading in my 2017 iPad Pro. Unwieldy size and can only use the worst product that Apple has ever made, the Apple Pencil 1.

 

Can get $50 gift card with the air and put it towards the pencil

 

The gift card values for the MacBook Air were kinda meh IMO.

Really glad I got an iPad Air. I was on the fence for a long time about getting another iPad but my MacBook (the one just called MacBook) is 6 years old and needs a new battery which I was hesitant to get. Just going to use it for spreadsheets now and hope I can get a few more years out of it.

 

One year in and my iPhone battery is down to 89. I miss my max iphone :(

 

Mine is toast too after a year with my 13 Pro

 

My 13 is at 95% and I probably average like a screen time of 5-6 hours a day under normal usage.

 

Gonna go look at phones today, still rocking an 8 since 2018. Thinking I’ll land on the mini but not sure if I need the 13 vs the 12.

Just replace the battery

 

I have a Casely which makes me never have an issue with battery. They charge together and easily doubles my battery time. I don’t have to plug in at all during the day, even with my excessive posting schedule.
