I agree, I got the green alpine band, and it is so damn comfortable. By far the best apple watch I've owned.
I bought the newest apple tv on Monday and I've been super disappointed. I set it up initially in a hotel room and now I can't get it to pair with my tv at home. This morning it's completely stopped controlling anything. I've followed the steps to repair the remote and nothing.
You actually paired the remote? I haven’t looked into it much but I assumed the Apple TV did that through HDMI-CEC
I hoped I could just plug the thing in and turn my tv on/change inputs. Hasn't been my experience. I'm also riddled with flu so I may not be operating at full capacity here setting it up. I restarted it and it's functioning again. Still won't turn my tv on though.
Yea but from what I've read volume is done a different way. Volume control is done automatically through infrared.
has your TV ever worked with an apple tv? I'd check the tv settings for HDMI-CEC and see if it's enabled. maybe try a different HDMI port.
I got off at noon and was scrambling to get my car packed up so I can drive to Columbus to pick up some beer from this brewery we like. I cant find my phone in my car but my watch is showing that it’s in there. I ping the phone and I can faintly hear the beeping sound and I assume it’s buried under my seat. I get on the highway and I see something fall down from my car and hit the highway. Then I check my watch and my iPhone is no longer near the watch. So basically I had left my phone atop my car and it fell off once I hit like 60+mph. I used the Find My shit but it wasn't updated and for whatever reason still showed the device as being at my house. I park on the side of the highway and walk around for a while trying to find it but I can't find shit. I am chatting with Apple Support now and I guess Apple Care+ doesn't cover anything like this unless you have the Theft coverage added to it. So now I am probably going to have to pay off my destroyed 13 Pro Max ($600) to get a new one. HAPPY NEW YEAR
There are working at the moment. Took a minute for the right ear to come on. I guess it’ll be a few weeks before they completely die out.
Looking for a new laptop. I currently have a MacBook Air 13-inch, 2017. Looking at either the MacBook Air with M2 Chip or the MacBook Pro 13". The Pro is $100 more. I don't do much other than browse the internet, Excel, Zoom, and Netflix. Thoughts?
WIth those use cases, Not sure you'll benefit from M2 to be honest. Can't you look at M1 refurbs or places like Costco where you may find a better deal on one of those?
Definitely could look at Costco. I don't really like refurbished stuff, for some reason. The battery on my current laptop sucks so I want to get something that will last a bit longer. Thanks for the reply.
New M2 Pros were announced last week. Have you checked those out? Or can wait for a price cut perhaps on the M1’s
Just upgraded to max MacBook Pro from intel version 3 years ago. Happy with it today. Quicker. Screen much better. Like the keyboard better. Sturdier it feels like. I need a hyperdock replacement I hate that I can’t snap windows to the side quick n easy
This is the one I was looking at. https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro-13/ The 14 and 16 inch Pros have M2 Pro or M2 Max, but that is more that what I'm willing to spend. It looks like the Air with M2 has a better camera than the Pro with M2, which is surprising to me. Other than that, the difference seems negligible.
One of my favorite features since Windows 7- Download the app "Better snap tool" Drag to snap windows or you can hit CMD + arrow of way you want it to snap
There are a bunch of M1 Airs and Macbook Pros on their refurb site. Since they announced M2 stock recently, a lot of their M1 refurb listings might be brand new stock they're trying to get rid of.
this is hopefully an easy question but what's the best way to upgrade an iphone these days? mine is >5 years old and very old and my charging cable is finally starting to fail (the lint trick doesn't seem to work anymore). do i buy directly from apple or through my carrier (verizon)? it looks like i can pay $1k+ via apple or verizon or verizon will let me pay that over three years. other than paying up front or over time, is there a difference and/or benefit from which company i purchase from?
I buy from Apple. Your old phone is likely worth dog shit if you do a trade in. Pretty sure Apple has payment plans as well.
what's the difference though? also, can i activate my phone and move photos/texts over without going into a verizon store?
boomer. i dont like fucking with the carriers. too much ill will from their years of putting shovelware shit on phones. you literally can point the camera of your new phone to the screen of your old phone and it will clone the old phone via iCloud
There’s never been shovelware on iPhones because Apple doesn’t allow it. Non-iPhone phones is a very different story
Both Apple and your cell provider will have trade-in estimators and sometimes great deals, even on older devices, to reduce the cost of the new iPhone. Apple will offer you a 0% 24 month option or a reduced paid-in-full option. Providers will offer a lower 0% payment if you agree to lock in for 2-3 years, depending on the deal. The trade-in on such an old device may be minimal.
