right, but apple will not sell you that battery and never has so you'd have to get it from a macsales.com type of site
I know I have bought a battery from there, but it was admittedly forever ago for the old white style mb. just hard to figure what a legit battery is because I see them from $20 all the way to $150, so was hoping for some sort of 'official' oem type site.
Yeah I can't really decide. I sort of dislike the size and weight of the Nexus 6P, and 7 Plus weighs even more and is right around the same size despite the screen being more .2 inches bigger on the 6P. I don't mind the weight too much except when I'm wearing shorts, but I wear shorts quite a bit so it kinda matters. Then again a 4.7" screen on the 7 is a bit on the small size. I haven't had a screen that small since the Nexus 4 which came out in late 2012. I know 0.3" screen difference doesn't sound like much but it matters quite a bit. But I like the better battery life on the 7 Plus. If the 7 was a 5" screen I'd probably pretty much be sold on it.
ya, the old school white MacBooks they sold but no other models since those got discontinued macsales.com is generally the best for apple parts, but i have not bought a battery from them. Only RAM & HD.
Holding smaller phones just feels too small now for me. Go to the Apple Store if you can and try them out.
Don't have an Apple Store locally (well it's like an hour away) but Walmart has the 6s and 6s Plus on display and I gather they are essentially the same size?
Yea they're the same on the outside, aside from the dual camera on the 7+. I haven't noticed a weight issue, but I don't wear baggy clothing so the stuff in my pockets isn't flipping around. After getting the plus, I see no reason to go with the regular 7, aside from saving some money. But if you go the apple upgrade program route, it's a difference of ~$5/mo.
Yeah, I'm definitely not doing the upgrade program since that requires trading in the phone in person, and Google Maps says the Apple Store is actually 1:22 away instead of one hour. I can buy an iPhone off Apple's website and get it the next day so that's a whole lot more convenient for me, and I'm not forced to pay for Apple Care. Edit: Actually looks like I couldn't even do the upgrade program anyways. I'm on an AT&T GoPhone (prepaid) plan and the upgrade program apparently only works with postpaid plans.
Is changing bands easy? What apps do use when running or hiking? Do they work with the watch? Make a map of your path? Anything you feel like sharing lay it on me
Changing bands is really easy. There are 2 small buttons on the back of the watch. You push them and the band slides on and off. Strava just updated their app to be able to track your workout without your phone. I haven't used it yet but it should be able to map your run/ride. Nike run app maps your run. Regular workout app tracks your distance but doesn't "map" it. Those are apps you can use without your phone. MapMyRun or MapMyRide both also work with the phone. Runtastic also works with your phone. What I mean with or without your phone is you don't need to have your phone with you to use them.
Thanks man, thats whats up. Definitely going to try Strava and MapMyRun. Currently using AllTrails but its not my favorite. I want something better for a longer hike in April. Want the Apple Watch but feel like a Suunto would be better suited for what I'm doing but I'd only want it for that one thing. AllTrails is nice but isn't on the watch https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/track-mar-10-07-51-am Sorry I had coffee this morning.
There are probably better workout trackers out there than the AppleWatch. It really is just a cool device though. It becomes second nature to check your watch when you get a notification (text call alert). It is also extremely easy to reply to texts and calls from it so that's a plus. For me it works as a workout tracker because I mostly just run or cycle being able to tract all my vitals is great. From what I know it's the only workout tracker to which I can add music which is a must. Sorry if that's unreadable but it is barely 7 here and I am trying to get my daughters ready for school. Alll in all I love it but it is not cheap ($430) so if you don't care about adding music and replying to texts/calls there are probably better and cheaper options out there.
I'm not digging using pages as my word processor platform especially when all the computers at work are PCs. Would yall recommend just biting the bullet and buying the newest microsoft office for mac package? I think it's like $70.
If you're super price conscious, just use Google Sheets. That being said, I'm an Office 365 subscriber at work and I like current software package and the 1 TB of OneDrive it comes with.
We already have microsoft office at the office. If I did this program for $5 a month in a year I could have just bought office.
The evening noticed a couple folders on my desktop were renamed. Is this most likely a fluke? Sign of something and or should I be freaked out?
All of my recent photos on my iPhone are showing up blurry and have a little circle with an exclamation point in the bottom right corner, what did I fuck up? I'm assuming it's user error on my part and likely a quick fix but I have no clue and a quick internet search didn't offer much help.
My watch is really starting to take a crap on battery life. Anyone have the original with Apple Care and been able to get a replacement?
And you can't send them to anyone when they're like that. I googled forever trying to find a fix. What eventually worked is to logout of your icloud and turn off the picture sharing stuff. Then log back in and have it redownload all the pics. That fixed it for me.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I just don't find myself with enough use for an iPad when not traveling. I use it for reading books and as an extra streaming screen and that's about it.
Yeah but the new iPad is like the cheapest iPad ever released, right? Why so much cheaper than the other lower end iPads previously released?
That's all I use a tablet for and that's why I've always bought Android tablets. I don't need anything fancy. Just work, have plenty of storage (or offer expandable storage), and have a cheap price since my usage hardly justifies dropping much cash on one. But this new iPad has an attractive price, especially if I decide to make the switch to iPhone to go along with my Macbook.
It's basically an iPad Air 2 with an upgraded processor that is almost 2 years old. So basically you get an iPad with 3 year old technology and a 2 year old processor. Nothing new in regards to technology so Apple is able to sell it cheap.
It's their budget ipad, most likely in the next few months they will release new versions of their flagship iPad Pro's with updated/new technology. These will most likely be $600 plus.
Can I take an iPad Air back to an Apple Store if I didn't buy it there but it just quit working out of nowhere? Anything they will do about it? AFAF
So I'm thinking about buying a new phone. I think I want the 6S+ should I buy it now or wait until the new iPhone comes out?
Likely September. The Model 6 phones will likely be free at that time (if they aren't already), as they would be 2 generations behind. You'd be able to get the 7 for what you'd pay for a 6 today if you wait.
So the screen on my macbook pro from 2012 took a shit last weekend. Is it worth getting fixed or should I just get a new one? Also, any external hard drive suggestions to use to transfer all my stuff onto if I get a new one?
Made it 8mos without a case on the Jet Black. It took a lot of abuse. Pretty tough phone, but this morning i dropped it out of the car and caught a pebble and it smashed a whole corner of the glass. Got it in a life proof nuud now. Sad day.
Emergency plea for advice! My car got broken into and my Air was stolen. Woe is me, etc. I'm going to use whatever I buy next for graphic design. Still broke since I'm still in school until September. Anyways: For those who have the new line of MacBooks/mbPros, is this USB-c shit really annoying? I don't have any interest in plopping 300 for that task bar btw. Please help, friends.
USB-C would be a lot less annoying if Apple hadn't made such obvious anti-consumer decisions like make it the only port on the new Macbooks just so they can make more money by trying to force people to buy docks from Apple.
iPad did that yesterday. Had to turn it sideways in the music app to turn off shuffle in a different place.
did this awhile back and there is a 'shuffle' button if you swipe up while in the music app that I had accidentally pressed
