I'm not sure, I know she had our phones backed up with iCloud. I'm not sure if she had the pics on her computer backed up with it also

 

I hope you're right, I'm at the point of trying to run a bunch of updates on the macbook so it really hasn't done anything from the cloud yet.

 

I think I've found the problem, the OS we were running (snow leopard) wasn't set up for iCloud. I think these pics are lost :thumbsdown:

 

No Time Machine backups on an external hard drive or networked drive?

Also, OS X snow leopard? That version is like 9 years old. How are you just now updating?

 

I think it wiped out the MacBook it wiped out the time machine too. Yeah I'm lame on the laptop, I really don't use it as you can tell lol.

I'm downloading El Captain now so I can download Sierra later. Should have probably done this 5 years ago.

 

Something for the future: start using Google photos. I've been using it for years with various phones and I think storage is free if you aren't uploading in original quality.

 

Does Google photos allow you to order the photos in any way you want? A buddy swears by it and I need a place to dump all my photos since all the iPhoto and Photos on my Mac are just too confusing to figure out and too big of a pain in the ass for a simpleton like myself.

 

They order them by the date the photo is taken.

 

So, walking around NOLA and found an Apple Watch sitting on the side walk. What do I do with it? I'm assuming someone will find me with the Find My Phone thing but if they don't, what do I do? Is there like an Apple Lost and Found or something?

Anyone know is this only available on Apple TV 4th gen or all Apple TV? I looked last night, but could not find it on the watch espn app.

I believe only the newest gen.

You have to swipe down and then the option comes up.

 

4th Gen only, as you need the Apple TV remote touchpad to press firmly to engage the multicast. Used it last night to watch Ohio STate/US Open/Arkansas.

Outside of the few second delay (even on my fiber optic line, it still delays some), its fantastic. Being able to customize the windows across anything on the ESPN family and seamlessly switch audio feeds makes it extremely enjoyable.

 

I purchased an Apple TV for the sole reason of this WatchESPN feature. I'm pretty disappointed with their selection of apps otherwise but even just messing around with the boxes tonight with shit games it's the ripe tits if you feel the need to consume several games at a time.

The Airplay from devices seems shitty unless I'm too technologically dumb to figure out how to expand the screen more.

 

App selection seems fairly competitive with Roku and Fire TV to me

It is the only conference, of any kind, in any sport, that you shy away from.

 

I have an Apple TV and a Roku and have only used the Roku for Amazon/Roku stuff until those apps finally came out on Apple TV and for 4k/HDR material.

The Apple TV is much easier to use and doesn't fuck up picture settings and HDMI handshake constantly like the Roku does. Looking forward to the imminent release of the 4k Apple TV in 2 weeks.

 

So what is the best way to preorder this iPhone 8? Never done a preorder for a phone but my current iPhone is tapping out and I've been waiting to update for over a year.

 

So is iPhone "X" real? It will be an interesting dilemma when they realize the iPhone 10 in a few years with the confusion.

 

For my 7 plus I went to an ATT store up the road from me and just let them do everything. I think I had to wait a week after I ordered but I felt more comfortable having someone else do the transaction then doing it online. I was making changes to get off my unlimited plan so that was part of it too. Ended up reducing my plan to a level that is still well beyond what my wife and I use for data and we have a 4 year old that will stream nick jr all the time if we are traveling. The reduction in plan price covered the price of our phones.
