Can't upgrade because I'm hooked up to my work's exchange server and until they test it, contacts and email probably won't work. Hate waiting for shit like this and might upgrade it anyway.
It did t really give a good description what the app is or does. Can you elaborate what you use it for?
I'm in the same spot. Not like it really matters but I have a bit of OCD coming out not having an up to date phone.
Wtf is this eye sore header that appears in plain text at the top of most Apple-based apps? It’s like someone forgot to write the fucking css for that header.
Yeah, the App Store is awful. Like the worst thing apple’s ever done bad. And i’m Including driving Foxconn employees to suicide in that list.
Night shift? Settings>display I’m not sure why that and airdrop have been taken out of control center
Airdrop is the delivery of data from one iPhone to another in proximity. Easy transfer of large data files. Albums, Videos, Attachments, etc.
There are also a bunch of additional items that can be added to control center now. If you go to settings>control center>customize you can add a bunch more items to display.
This just took me fucking forever to find but iOS 11 defaults mail accounts to “Fetch Automatically” so email is showing up as it’s received. You can change the setting to Manual or change the Fetch schedule to much less often. It’ll save on battery and data usage. It’s under Accounts & Passwords, not under Mail for some reason.
Color inversion is not everything anymore either. It is more of a need based program now. Inverts the colors where you need it, not every pixel on the phone.
Anyone with an iPad Pro really like it? I've been seeing them pop up in more and more meetings but just can't imagine it really replacing my laptop. That said, my MacBook Pro is about 7 years old and iPad is about 4 years old so I'm considering upgrading both and the iPad pro seems like a good solution.
I have a 9.7 pro. It's amazing but it's an iPad. When I really need to do something I grab my MacBook or use my desktop.
I use a MacBook Pro and an iPad Pro and love both, for different reasons. What's awesome about the iPad Pro is the pencil and the related ability to take and always have notes with me from any meeting, to mark up documents/pics/pdfs/emails, etc. and save or send them right away, to push two buttons and have my screen up on the TV in my office to share in meetings, etc. I also really dig the keyboard case, it's not much bigger than the standard Apple smart case. In what I've seen in almost a day of use, iOS11 has boosted the effectiveness of the pencil, too. I got the big iPad Pro, which is great for tablet use, but the thing is as big as my new MacBook, which was a change.
Fiance has the iPad Pro 12.9 inch and its great. Daughter uses it as much as she does. The pen works really well with it as well. My Air is 8 years old and the battery is finally dipping some. This has been by far the best computer I've owned, now in the market for a Pro I guess
I really like it if all I am doing is basic stuff like browsing the internet, checking up on my RSS feeds, social media, etc. I got mine for work along with a lifeproof case so I can stream our outdoor games at our bad weather field since our bad weather field ironically has zero weather cover. Battery will last all game long. It's nowhere close to being a laptop replacement yet. Only tablet that can be a true laptop replacement is a Microsoft Surface as far as I can tell. Everything else is just forcing you to use a mobile OS that may or may not be optimized for a bigger screen. I suppose if all you did was shit on the internet, listen to music, look at pics, and watch videos it would be sufficient though.
ios 11 definitely made fonts bigger. recent call list is like 12 font compared to it being a 10 before.
Found a few ways to make my 6+ faster in these last couple of days: -turn on Reduce Motion in Accessibility -turn off background refresh for pretty much everything -make sure nothing is using location at all times -turn off auto update apps
you can change the overall font size in settings. It doesnt look like it affects the header fonts on some apps though.
I have the 12.9 and love it. I am a huge nerd though so among other things one of my main uses for it is as a comic book reader. It has replaced my laptop as my everyday use too. I now just have a cheap pc that I use for torrance and to run my plex server. My 12.9 is used for everything else
Pluses: quicker Touch ID. Quicker scrolling Cons: absurdly huge fonts in Apple apps. Aggressive return to home screen animation. An App Store that will make you want to pour salt in your eyes.
So are you telling me it should go back to normal after a couple days. I have a 7 that is a month old and it went from great battery to meh
Generally that's the reason for poor battery life the first couple of days. If it continues after that, then go through all the standard checks and what not.
My 7+ battery last a good two hours less than when I got it. Pisses me off. It shouldn't be that way after the amount of time I've had it.
It appears you can now have multiple playlist on your Apple Watch. I might cancel my order for the 3.
Could I be overcharging? I keep it in a dock at work and charge it every night. I pretty much have to.
Just noticed while driving today that the Now Playing function takes over when you're playing music(I've been told it does this on a MacBook, too). Thought that was pretty cool.
