Eventually I will buy the 4k one, with a higher refresh rate but they are cheapest 2k. This was 100 bucks and works way better than I could have expected. Only issue is the scroll at the bottom of ESPN blurs. But no visual blur of live sports.
I'd been looking for something like this for 4 years when I had my media room. Now I don't need it. Thanks for nothing jeez
Turn off ad blocker brah http://www.hdmiswitchreviews.com/av...switch-and-ir-remote-support-1080p-hdmi-1-3a/
So could I do something like have 3/4 of the screen being a game on cable TV and 1/4 of the screen being like the ESPN scoreboard running off a laptop something like that?
No. There is a product that allows you to create your own custom views but its 4k tech and about $2k. This is not super customizable. The only useable views are any input completely, 2 equal screens (distorted image a little), 4 equal screens (my go to, works the best),1 big and 3 small (works pretty good as well). If you did 4 equal and only used inputs 1 and 2, then the bottom half would be black.
This is the one I will get eventually. Allows for you to create custom views and shows content in 2048x1080 @ 60Hz http://www.networktechinc.com/hdmi-multiviewer.html#tab-3
Damn. I need to just start streaming everything off a cheap laptop then I could easily do what I want. That's basically what I did with the digital display outside my office. Customized it to my heart's desire with HTML.
Thinking of buying some AirPods. Are new ones set to come out? I don’t want to buy some that will be obsolete in a month or two.
Took advantage of the bogo iPhone deal at Verizon. Had to add a line for the deal, but I’m just going to take my already connected iPad, cancel the line, and just put it on the new line we made. #lifehack
Have to upgrade one and add a line at least. I already have an iPad that’s out of contract that I can cancel (costs me $20/mo now). The add a line also cost $20/mo. Going to cancel the iPad and activate it on the new phone line I made. I took the sim from my existing phone and put it in the new X The deal is for a free iPhone 8 but you can pay the difference for an 8+ or an X. The new line must remain active for 24 mos.
They were supposed to release an updated pair that has a wireless charging case but that and the charging pad have not been released
Good deal. That wouldn’t be an issue for me. If I get them, I’ll probably get one of those three-in-one docks for your phone, watch and AirPods.
Is there anything worse than when your 70 year old mom has to get a new phone because she dropped hers in the toilet and you have to pray that she signed into iCloud recently and there is a recent backup of her phone since she keeps all her passwords on her phone plus contacts that she likely never backed up otherwise and then you are asked for a two factor authentication and you mom tells you she lost her iPad and there isn’t another Apple product to receive the two factor code and then you get mad at her and then you’re the asshole
Haven't seen that yet but the new update removed people's names from conversations and now it's only showing their numbers, which doesn't help because I don't remember anyone's number these days.
I don’t look at this thread ever so it may have been discussed 10 pages ago. Anyway, Apple is going to announce their HQ2 as Raleigh, NC in the next couple weeks.
Is it worth it to upgrade to the 8+ right now? Or should I wait it out for a new release later this year? I’m on a 6 that I got in 2014 and it has been performing very poorly for about a year and a half.
I just don’t think getting an 8+ when an iPhone X is slightly more makes sense. You’ve had your phone for 4 years almost. The extra $200 is worth it.
I have just been iffy on the face recognition. Didnt know if they would be coming out with an improved version of it this year.
Possibly, but honestly, it works great. There are some moments it’s not so great, but Touch ID is the same way.
I went 6 to 8+ and have not had one regret. I’m old I guess and didn’t want to jump to no home button even though I’m sure this is the last version that will have one.
I don’t like the Face ID at all. Mine NEVER works in the dark, and even with eye contact turned off it doesn’t work with my sunglasses.
If you’ve waited a year and a half, I’d wait another few months to get what’s announced this fall. And get Face ID.
Face ID is fine and he gestures are simple to grasp, but I feel like I’ve has way more issues with lagging/glitching with the X than ever before. Probably a software issue instead of a flaw with the X itself. I’m drunk.
I've had no lagging or delay issues in anything x related and the face id for me has worked really well. My biggest issues with face id are when I have on sunglasses but that's literally the only issue I've had. Really enjoy using it for passwords online and other things like that where it honestly seems quicker than touch id to me.
Same for me. Kind of hate it to be honest. Definitely ruined my phone experience having to punch in my code the majority of the day.
i rarely ever had issues with the fingerprint reader. also used the fingerprint to sign into certain apps. i'd take an 8+ over the X. the size and screen sharpness on the X is outstanding, though.
Exactly what I did on Saturday...had to change my phone number but I've been wanting to change it for years iphone 8 coming tonight, upgrading from a 4 year old 16gb iphone 6 that barely charges and is slow as fuck
X checking in with nary an issue with Face ID. Well I guess I have had to enter my code if I’m in a bright sun at a weird angle, but not really much issue.
My iPhone 6s’s battery is sucking major dick the past week or so. It’s now been shutting down at ~50% and battery health says it’s at 78%. Any idea on how much it would cost to replace? Or should I pay the $99 to upgrade on AT&T?
I have a 6S and was experiencing the same thing (my battery health also said 78%). Through the end of 2018, they will swap out your battery for $29. I did it on Saturday, and it’s been considerably better.
Alright that’s good to know. I’ll probably do the $29 switch out as I don’t feel like dealing with a new phone. Despite what Clown Baby says, you aren’t a bad dad after all.
It did take like 2.5 hours to do it, which seemed excessive to me, so be prepared to either wait or kill some time while it’s being changed.
