Man, the case options do abnormally suck for the XS Max. Typically theres already a whole slew of good options at release date. I don't think this carries near the buzz as usual, though I am thrilled for a faster X with a bigger screen.
Speck cases have always been solid for me. Same with lifeproof and otter box. The speck cases are out already. Lifeproof and otterbox should be soon.
This is what I'm probably about to pop for now. https://case-mate.com/black-barely-there-leather-iphone-xs-max
So I won't be home most likely when my phone is delivered Friday. Has anyone had luck leaving a note on your door with your tracking #, signature and instructions for the delivery man to leave the package, let's say put on the back deck by door?
Typically you can pick it up at the warehouse or even have them ship it to a partner. I think Walgreens is one.
Wouldn't you need a tracking number to do this already? Do y'all have one? I dont edit: I remember this thread something about using order id to track shipment? Can anyone revisit?
No, I do not, but I have another device coming tomorrow and I don't see any of those options for it. I am going to try the note thing I mentioned above and see if it works. Will report back.
Some products you can leave a note and they will leave it. Apple products that’s a big time no go for them I would expect it will not be left, but once you get the note from them on trying to deliver you should be able to set up to pick it up somewhere.
I got a shipping number in my confirmation email but it looks like mine is shipping with UPS so that may be different.
Ok well it is a thing for sure with UPS. I did it on my X and I’m pretty sure that’s who ships the iPhones. You could as of then find your tracking number via your cell phone or order number, and then within that interface request it to be held at a store. I did this for my X when they shipped it to an old billing address.
They’ll drop it for you. There’s just certain info you need to leave on the note for them. Shipping # and that sort of shit.
Sign up with UPS my choice. It's free and super useful. You can sign for a package/authorize delivery on line. Can also select where you want packages left. I got it for my x but use it all the time now.
You know your UPS/FedEx guy? I got tired of fighting it and just have new phones shipped to my work address.
Yes. This could be it. Previous owner required every shipment to be signed even if not required. Some theft issue. Took me months to reverse it. Maybe it changed to the point that signature isn’t required for me. This is UPS
Ordered a 44mm watch silver aluminum gps only with sport loop strap. Almost went for the cell version at ATT as they offer 0% installments. But there’s a $30 activation and $10 a month fee. I just won’t use cell that much The delivery estimate is the same as it was at 6am Friday. Oct 15-22. Is anyone getting this on release day?
Newest generation of usb connectivity. Allows you to charge the phone faster. Looks like a little mushed square versus the larger rectangle of regular USB-b.
Same. I’m getting similar delivery dates. You had to order within 30 minutes of going on sale apparently.
I got my tracking number. Go here and put in your phone number with area code in the track by reference option. https://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US
Picking up a watch from an Apple Store on Friday. Delivery would have taken a few extra weeks; around the dates you posted.
It’s pretty bad when Nintendo got usb c on their device two years ago and Apple is still using lightning Their proprietary fuckery will never cease to frustrate me
This is the one I have for my 8 Speck Products Presidio Grip Case for iPhone 8 (Also Fits 7/6S/6), Eclipse Blue/Carbon Black
I’d lean Otterbox if you’re buying the phone at full retail or prone to damaging phones. I drop my shit all the time, and usually don’t just drop it, but kick it, fumble it, softball pitch it trying to save it from falling and end up adding distance/velocity to my drop. So Otterbox is the shit if that’s you. No damage to any phone I’ve had in an OB. But if you have the “mandatory” AppleCare or some kind of decent warranty service with your provider/plan where replacing a screen (or phone) isn’t cost prohibitive, I’d go with the Moshi or something with more style. The Moshi offers nice protection too, it’s just not to the level of hard plastic and rubber of the OB.
Lightening is fine, provides a better feeling connection anyway. What is bullshit is that they don’t include a lightening-to-USBc cord and high watt power brick even though they make both.
