from Brugler’s round 1 article 1. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma Kliff Kingsbury gets his wish. Since the combine in February, it became clear that Kyler Murray would be the pick and Kingsbury sold GM Steve Keim and team president Michael Bidwill on the idea. Talking to Cardinals players at last week’s voluntary workouts, Kingsbury was installing a zone-read based offense, which will fit Murray’s style perfectly. Now we’re on Rosen watch — we basically add another quarterback to this draft class. From the beat writer: “Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said he didn’t want to take Kyler Murray after trading up to get Josh Rosen in the first round last year but he was won over by Murray’s talent. This is a gamble for Arizona. Few teams had Murray as the No. 1 player in the draft and it’s fair to wonder if the Cardinals would even have considered Murray if they hired anyone other than Kliff Kingsbury as coach. This will either work out spectacularly for Arizona or cost Keim and Kingsbury their jobs some day.” —Scott Bordow
Yes, please. Desperately wanted Murphy for years, elite off ball CB and potentially, finally the perfect complement to PP... who we will then trade for peanuts
Positional value be damned? Ummm, did I miss the Cardinals suddenly having CB depth? Alford ain't exactly a lockdown guy and we don't have a nickel either. I'm all for taking the best player when your roster sucks as much butt as ours though
Still want to trade out of 33, pick up and extra 3 or a 2 next year. Multiple OL because Keim sucks at picking them
This is dumb. Put KM behind the lines we had at UCLA and see how durable he’d have been. As I’ve said my son has been a Cardinals fan since he was about 8 so I root for them to do well and hope this turns out well for everyone involved but using Rosen’s injuries without context is stupid. He is one tough SOB.
end it Kyle Allen was the starter until he threw a million picks against Bama and then Kyler finished that game
Honestly, pretty sure I'd want PFF drafting for us over Keim... If we could actually wipe 2018 from our memories, like the Cardinals are desperately trying to do, I'd love this draft. But, yeah, that all happened and that moron Keim is the one in charge still. And our OL will still suck unless Marcus Gilbert can still play and like 5 other guys don't suck/stay healthy
5 best OL left 55. G HJALTE FROHOLDT, ARKANSAS Froholdt played both center and guard during his tenure with the Razorbacks. This past season, he was one of the nation’s best pass protectors, allowing five pressures all season long. 93. G TREVON TATE, MEMPHIS Tate played tackle at Memphis but projects inside in the NFL. He earned an 86.0 pass-blocking grade this past season and allowed all of 10 pressures. 106. C LAMONT GAILLARD, GEORGIA Among draft-eligible FBS centers with at least 400 offensive snaps played in 2018, Gaillard ranked inside the top-10 in overall grade (78.2) and run-blocking grade (77.1). He also earned an impressive 77.9 pass-blocking grade in 2018, allowing just eight total pressures across 353 pass-blocking snaps. 108. G DEION CALHOUN, MISSISSIPPI STATE Playing 275-plus pass-blocking snaps for the Bulldogs in each of the past three seasons, Calhoun has earned 70.0-plus pass-blocking grades since his 2016 campaign. 116. G DRU SAMIA, OKLAHOMA A nasty finisher and coveted for exactly that, Oklahoma’s Samia has a lot of uncoachable traits NFL coaches will fall in love with in this pre-draft process. He finished his 2018 campaign ranked 34th in pass-blocking grade at 78.3.
Honestly I love our DBs and Vance Joseph landed in a pile of gold CB1 - PP CB2 - Murphy / Alford Slot - Alford / Murphy FS - Budda Baker SS - JUNGLE BOI SWEARINGER
