Clearly going with a Red Theme. Hopefully it doesn't get worn much and we can wear the home kit. Don't watch a whole lot of MLS matches. Does the Away team usually wear the Away Kit or only when the Home Kit clashes?
That is correct, we may very well wear the home kit 70+% of the time if they want and it does not clash. We may also see the "away" kit worn at home a few times. Just depends.
Away kit is fine. Obviously the home one is the "main one" they expect everyone to purchase. Plus they will eventually have an alternate this or next year. It's an away kit. It's fine.
http://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/201...nited-sean-johnson-trade-chicago-fire-lilburn I'm good with this. Solid dude
Pretty sure Atlanta United confirmed no 3rd kit this season. http://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/2016/11/19/13680984/atlanta-united-third-kit-away-home-news
Atlanta United has signed U.S. youth international Brandon Vazquez. Vazquez, 18, is a 6-foot-3 forward who was playing in the academy of Club Tijuana, which is in Mexico’s first division. Hector Villalba, another Atlanta United player, is also on loan with the Xolos. Vazquez is a native of Chula Vista, Calif. who made his national debut with U.S. under-17 team in 2015 in a 5-2 win over Bermuda. He followed that by scoring three goals in a 4-0 win, also against Bermuda. He has made appearances for the U.S. U19s, where he hit a perfect free kick from 30 yards to defeat Spain 1-0 in the COTIF tournament in August. He has four goal this year with the U19s. “Brandon has the natural goal scoring ability you look for in young forwards,” Atlanta United Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement from the team. “He’ll have every opportunity to contribute to our first team and to develop and progress with the national team.” Vazquez is one of several players who have experience within the U.S. youth national teams to sign with Atlanta United. That group includes Andrew Carleton and Chris Goslin, the club’s first two Homegrown Players. Vazquez is a Discovery Signing, one of the numerous mechanisms used in MLS to acquire players.
Big strong CF with decent skill from what I've seen with the USYNT's. Tijuana hardly ever gives youngsters a chance, so no idea how he stacks up against pros yet.
Vazquez is a big CF type like an Alan Gordon. He had played well with Youth Teams. Doesn't have the high end potential of Andrew Carleton, but seems like a safer bet to develop into a quality MLS player than lots of Youth Prospects. Also can learn from Kenwyn Jones who has a similar body and game.
I like that we are smart enough to put discovery claims on realistic targets instead of Messi and Co. If those dudes find their way to MLS they will play wherever the hell they want.

If true, Miguel Almiron will join the new MLS team in Atlanta United and Gerardo "Tata" Martino.
now twitter is saying $13m that would break the MLS Bradley Transfer by quite a bit. Uncle Arthur ain't playing.

I assumed the league was still doing the whole the MLS owns the player so you don't get the transfer fee thing. It's nice to know we can get the money back for guys like Carleton, Tito, and Almerion
The team make 2/3 of excess money above what you bought the player for with up to 650K being Allocation Money. So for Almerion if the fee is $8 Mil and the sell him for $10 Mil then ATL should get $1333K with $650K being Allocation and $682 going to ATL Operations. Just can't be used towards the Salary Cap. The team makes 3/4 of money off HG player transfers. So if team sells Carleton for $4 Mil then they get $3 Mil. Not sure how that money gets allocated. Think it all just goes to Operations.
http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/201...galaxy-onalfo-atlanta-united-almiron-guardado Wahl says we are "still on track" to sign Andres Guardado
I remember an interview Clint did a while back that says Guardado was the best Mexican player he has played against. I had no idea he had 132 caps for El Tri. Would have figured somewhere in the 80's
You guys bitching about the kits. Be thankful AFI let you guys alter the color scheme to fit the kits. Too many sponsors slap a big ugly logo on a kit and it ruins an otherwise great effort.
getting Michael Parkhurst http://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/2016/12/7/13877196/atlanta-united-michael-parkhurst
Maximiliano Pollachi and Milton Valenzuela appear to be set to join Atlanta United on loan for 2017 from Newell’s Old Boys for the upcoming season. United would have an option to buy the players, with Valenzuela’s price reportedly at $3 million. Newell’s Old Boys has decided to keep midfielder Joaquin Torres with the club for now rather than loan him to Atlanta. Pollachi is a 21-year-old center back who was part of the first team squad when Tata Martino managed Newell’s. Valenzuela is an 18-year-old left back who has been in some first team game day squads in 2016.
using our top allocation spot on a keeper seems odd given past comments they made on keeper 'spending'
