these nerds were circle jerking for months about Atlanta having to play in front of "a real fanbase" and we hand them their worst home loss in two years
What a damn good week. Beat Club America and at Portland. Team will be scary good once everyone is healthy. Really want to win US Open Cup.
doing this while playing about as many games as possible this season between Concacaf Champions League Quarters, US Open Final, and Campeones Cup
I am sorry for doubting FdB now. Looking back at everything in hindsight I feel like it went like this... FdB did not know his squad individually and wanted to install his style of defense under extreme pressure from the CCL hitting at the same time as the start of the MLS season. Once he "installed" his defense we were plagued with injuries and people missing time to play for their country Lately he finally has his tactics "installed" and he has put players in their most natural positions (gressel) and we have had some players return from injury which explains our current form. Hopefully we can get Tito and Remidi back for the US Open Final.
Everything changed in the second half of the LAFC game when we started pressing the issue on the attack. The butthole definitely tightens up a bit defending some of these counters now but the back line has been stout, it helps when teams flat out miss their chances too though like that Valeri whiff two minutes in.
Plus it seems like we’ve totally changed our offensive strategy. Early in the year it seemed like our philosophy was just send never ending crosses into the box hoping Josef would do his thing. No we are actually attacking like we did the last two years. It’s been a lot more fun to watch the past 4-5 matches.
Yea, the attack looks a hell of a lot different the past few games compared to early in the season. I'm not sure if that's just getting more comfortable with what we're doing or if we really changed the attack. The recent formation change has been pretty helpful with Gressel roaming that whole right side.
Guys were also probably struggling to adjust Miggy not being there where he could just speed past everyone else for those crosses too.
its one thing when a closeup of their crowd is nothing but flipping birds and F bombs but it doesnt get more white trash than that stadium collectively doing a Fuck Atlanta chant
on the road again, worn down from as many games played as possible, and another trophy to be played for on Tuesday they may never beat us
Any team with even decent finishing puts 2 or 3 past us tonight. Thankfully, Orlando didn’t take any of the multiple chances we gave them.
