Finally hit up KG BBQ on Sunday. Around 2.5 hours from arrival to being done eating. Line was no joke. They had already sold out of several lamb options before we got to order. Pork Ribs were great. Loved the sauce being something different and tasted a lot more "fresh" than typical bbq sauce. Mac n Cheese was great as was the potato salad. Rice was just okay but got a side to go with some Kafta and Lamb Shoulder and when mixed with either of those + the yogurt and red sauce it was pretty delicious. Will be going back but will order ahead of time for pickup.
I definitely was expecting closer to ~30min tops not 2 hours from arrival to getting food on the table. I doubt Mrs. Lau would have gone if she'd known the wait time. However it being at a brewery makes waiting easier. Several people in the line were alternating people watching TV inside and waiting in line.
Just got caught on the hole in the wall patio in that rain. Tin roof so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. #jewboycantina4lyfe
The more I look at it, the more i like it, might be the best in the last 3-4 years. Jungle vince staples carin leon khurangbin leon bridges prtety lights tyler (again) kehlani dom dolla dominic fike jeezy tyla elderbrook Damn, sacrificing kehlani and still woozy on W1 vs sacrificing Jeezy / Tyla on W2....
W2 is where it’s at. W1 is a Texas bye week so it’s going to be a madhouse. Also Jeezy and Royal Otis W2 exclusives.
went to the leroy and lewis brick and mortar this weekend to grab a burger (which is great), and their brisket is $40/pound and on saturdays only. that is outrageous to me
How is the brick and mortar? I'm not sure if i've ever been to the food truck, I've just had them at food festivals I think
it's good! i was/am a big fan of their food truck, and their brick and mortar is solid too. only have certain meats on certain days (brisket on saturdays only) and specials friday and sundays too, but a good size bar. the burgers are great. the sides are good. overall, it was my first time at the brick and mortar and got the burger (which i have had before) so i didn't try anything new. but next time i go they have a chopped cheese that looked good and a couple other things. definitely worth a try
Hot take but I really never get brisket anymore when I want BBQ. The beef rib at Terry Black's is the best bite of BBQ I've ever had and it's the same price per pound as the brisket and usually more food anyways. Otherwise, I'm usually grabbing sausage and whatever specialty items are on the menu. $40 per pound for brisket is insanity when you consider the beef rib at Black's is $35 per pound. You can grab a burger, a BBQ sando and a side at L&L for less than $40.
i'm just chilling, taking advantage of nice apartments with reasonable prices last go around. cant wait till the price drops on homes. shes right these prices are ridiculously high and things aren't moving. Austin isn't all cracked up to be for lots of people -- its not a big city. it doesnt have a big city feel. the diversity is lacking. the food is good but not elite and surrounding cities are better regarding that. but its the city for me so fucking leave everyone please
I bought in Dec. I got 250k off of asking price (I kept lowballing the shit out of them and they were desperate for some end of year stuff). I don't think I overpaid but time will tell, I think at the very least it'll hold the value.
Just sat on the tarmac at AUS for 90 minutes when I landed. The last three months, every time I've landed we've been held up getting to the gate and it's only getting worse. /Boomer rant
Surprised it took them so long. Seems they are setting the stage for if/when Tyler drops they can just move her on up to headliner.
very cool for those who like movies. https://www.austintheatre.org/event...mini,KennyG&utm_content=version_A&promo=67494
Anybody got an inside track for Austin city limits TV show recordings? Would love to get in on literally any of this seasons upcoming ones
Also doing the Austin Symphony Orchestra play-along Nightmare Before Christmas on 12/17. Every single one of these that I've been to over the years has been a really fun experience. Can't recommend them enough especially for a fun date idea where you have an excuse to get dressed up nice.
Can we talk about how amazing the fact they have jellyfish on tap in the American Airlines lounge for free?
