Taco Deli's breakfast tacos are the titty tates. get the green salsa its good and has some heat to it. also kerby lane queso is worth a mention
east 6th = shitshow west 6th = douchebag central (j blacks ) when I go to 6th I usually just go to east 6th and don't remember the night. I prefer Magnolia over kerbey lane. Alamo drafthouse is awesome if you haven't been to a similar concept. the 25+ crowd goes to the bars on 4th & 5th streets, so they don't have to deal with the shit storm on 6th street

Pretty much everything has been covered ITT, but I'll add on Red River Cafe as my favorite breakfast spot. I also second the idea to skip salt lick and go to Lockhart. I'm a kreuz fan, but eat any of them, they're all good. Some people go to Lockhart and try all of the places which sounds pretty fun iyam. Depending on what your water/weather situation is at the time, it could be pretty nice and relaxing to hit up the greenbelt or barton springs. Good places to hit on some hippie bitches (so is ACL of course) Not sure who you're a fan of, but if you're in town for a UT game, they're pretty fun to tailgate for if you're not up for going into the game. Most of the fans that do serious tailgating are pretty nice about strangers pulling up and drinking some beer with em. Also, Sholtz beir garten (sp?) has a pretty awesome game day atmosphere. So does Cain and Abel's West Campus if you're wanting more of the undergrad aged bitches. Austin is an awesome city, enjoy it man. Oh, and the golf course by Tarry Town? The only one I can think of that's remotely close to there might be Hancock which is a shitty 9 hole municiple course. If you're serious about your golf and picky about your courses I'd advise you to stay away from the older municiple courses. They're short, generally pretty easy and not taken care of all that well. Shadow Glen is North of Austin in Manor and I thought it was a pretty decent and challenging course. My friends have played Falconhead and given good reviews. There's definitely good golf around Austin, just make sure you do your research.

My dad consults for Uchi, its truly amazing. Tacodeli is another place id go for tacos. Hit up might fine aswell for a burger.
Not trying to be a BBQ fag, but it drives me crazy when people say just go anywhere in Lockhart. I can't imagine going out there and not going to either kreuz or smittys. Blacks is damn good 2nd tier brisket, but the other two are where you must go.
I have already made it mandatory for a trip Kruez...it is currently as important as going to ACL at the moment. There isn't shit for bbq in Florida (outside of 4 Rivers) so it is a must when I get the chance.

Wasn't that expensive? Don't see how thats possible especially during acl. On a normal weekend the lowest priced room is usually 250+ tax.
Its probably the most expensive hotel in austin for a regular room. It looks like a castle in the middle of 6th street.
Not sure what the deal is.....I am guessing between the number of nights (there are plenty of rooms available on any night not September 16th and 17th), the corporate discount (company uses Destination a lot) and maybe the time of year, the average rate isn't bad. It was cheaper than several other downtown hotels. I only have to pick up 3 nights, and my bill is like $400 which is more that I would normally pay for myself, but seemed reasonable at the time. Will probably get fucked on parking, internet, and all the other bullshit charges...maybe I should rethink the Driskill.
Yeah I would absolutely not ditch hotel, especially at this point given that you'll be there during ACL weekend.

I would go to Franklin if it wasn't ass-packed. Other than that I would drive to lockhart it's not that far.
