I think a few people have said that they couldn't get into Kung Fu for brunch with a hat on. also heard one guy we know was wearing golf shorts (so prob some kind of microfiber material) and one of the bars wouldn't let him in claiming they were "athletic shorts", which I'd say translates to mesh... which is just not the case, and wouldn't budge on letting him in. This was also like a late afternoon / post-round time of day. FOH with a dress code. Is trash that big of a problem that you need a dress code to discourage them from coming in your place up there?
Its always funny when bars have a "dress code" that effectively translates to "ya know, stuff black guys wear"
Rose room / 77 deg are upscale clubs. More Dallas-esque than anything ATX has outside of RIO. Massive dance club and lounge. Everything else on the street - ive never seen people get turned away. Also, its the same as west 6 / rainey. people dress well...... youd feel out of place anyway in golf shorts.
I wear khaki or navy blue shorts pretty much 100% of the time I go out unless its late fall/winter and temps are cold - never had a problem.
Maybe me being :billsnyder: but I can't stand when people wear hats indoors Do these places allow jeans or no?
mee too i wear a hat a lot due to being fair skinned as fuck, but my parents taught me right and i take that shit off when inside my favorite are the damn big ol country cowboys who think they are country and sit in a damn restaurant eating dinner with their fucking Stetson on
Wearing a hat to a casual bar like dogwood or the like isn't like going to dinner in a hat but I pretty much only wear hats when day drinking somewhere
Anyone go see Chance the Rapper last night? One of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Great shows all day. Jmblaya gets better every year
Depending on how long you all want to stay, I'll recommend some things. Golf: Barton Creek Fazio Foothills or Fazio Canyons Food: Max's Wine Dive, Fondo San Miguel, Meuller's BBQ, Texas Honey Ham (breakfast before ACL), Odd Duck is good too, Stubb's on 6th Also go to 6th Street for some awesome bars and music. Take a walk around the trails by the lake, go SUPing, etc. I'll have to call Barton Creek but if anyone is planning on being in town, I'll make some calls and see if I can't use my gold golf membership to help some of you get a round in while you're in town. They're usually very accommodating to gold card members. Send me a PM if interested.
Foothills is closed and the other courses will be packed as a result. Not sure if it will be opened back up by then.
Soooooo what if I just live here and want to get out there for a round (it's member only or semi private right?) on a random weekend? I'll suck yo dick. I got these cheeseburgers
Was gonna go to index but seems to be more of a mini concert fest with beer on the side than a proper beer fest that it used to
roommate went and said it was tight. hope it doesn't kill my ecred but when he asked what I thought about them all i could come up with is "that one song with biggie and tupac"
what's is lacking that would make it a proper beer fest? or do you think it's just trying to be too much? it's got everything the previous beer fest had (I was on the board that did it in 2014) but we never thought to get some good ass music to go with it. I think it's awesome they basically give you the same thing you used to get - 100 brewery tents - AAAAND you get to hear 3 solid bands... for essentially the same price. Tickets the year I did it were $25.
Price didn't seem worth it either. Looked like you didn't get that much beer unless you bought extra pass. New ownership?
yea it went from being a YMBL and Texas Craft Brewers (unless this was a different fest altogether), to being Untappd, to being Index. I will say that when we did it, your ticket came with tastings. now tastings are an upgrade that's like $15 more I believe. That's definitely not worth the price of what... ~6 2oz pours. nah. ***assuming the price of a pint is $4-6 I'm okay with the GA price
