Honestly, prepping for SXSW. Or, a nice hotel bar looking for women that are traveling and feeling alone on v-day.
Just went to the new H-Mart in the Lakeline area, it was awesome. Super crowded but still great food. Plus 99 cent beers is a nice touch
Hey guys, will be in town 3/22-25 for a bachelor party, anything specific we should look to do / restaurant recs? There will be 13 of us. Would like a nicer dinner one night (preferably with a private room, we will be very loud/drunk). Will probably go to Jester King at some point. Much thanks if you ever need CHI/NYC/ATL recs just tag me in those threads and I'll repay the favor
Jester King is a great call. For a group that size, I would probably look at the following: Jacoby's Mercantile - Weather should probably still be nice so i'd try to reserve a table on the patio. Probably my favorite restaurant in Austin. BBQ - If you don't want to stand in line at Franklin, I would hit up any of La BBQ, Micklethwait, Terry Black's or Stiles Switch. Cosmic - Great beer garden with food trucks (tacos, bbq) Via 313 - Detroit Style pizza behind Craft Pride, which is great beer bar. I'd lump this with Rainey St. while you're there. I prefer the scene during the day but it's usually always busy. Torchy's - Go to the one on Congress and try to get there before 10:30 since the line will be out the door otherwise. Veracruz probably has better tacos but South Congress is a great area to walk around. The South Congress Hotel has a great bar and usually a solid scene on Sundays. Kemuri Tatsu-Ya - On the East Side of Austin and close to some great drinking spots like Whisler. Might be hard to get in with 13 ppl but great Japanese/Texan fusion and cocktails. Justine's - French bistro. Also on the East Side and definitely a place I'd try to reserve ahead of time. Great food and wine. Perry's and Eddie V's are great steakhouses if you want to go that route as well. For activities, I'd definitely try to get out on the water and rent a boat or go paddle boarding. Hiking the Greenbelt is fun too or you could float the river, but that's more of an all-day activity. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Respectfully I'd advise against Justine's for a bachelor party, although its an excellent date spot. Bob's rooftop downtown would be a good spot for a blowout steak dinner. This baby is always a good time. http://www.misshighlife.com
It's my wife's favorite spot in town. I bet we have been four times in the last couple of years, so good.
I’ll be in town Friday March 2-4th. Anything going on? Anywhere I can drink before the 11am b-ball game Saturday?
smart of you to come after sxsw - prices will be out the ass during if you want stuff to do, look up whenwherewhataustin on instagram

Got a reservation for this: http://www.austin360.com/entertainm...bot-revolt-will-start/PcdAIEQZItF40PX8QWpdjO/ I'd like to think that I'd be able to resist sexy robots, but I know I can't
Came to post that. How’d you get a reservation damnit? And... can you bring a +1 me love you long time. See they’re doing additional ticket releases at some point had to turn on mobile alerts for their Twitter.
I'm people that know people. Or, I just happened to be checking Twitter at the right time. I think it's one only, sadly. Yeah, just turn on notifications for the Westworld twidda account. I think they only released 50 percent for this.
Got dressed up and hit the W hotel last night, amazing vibe. ..every girl was dolled up and people where just chillin. First time I hit the place, defnitely going back Then moved over to summit on 5th and ill be damned if I didn't want to have a baby with half the girls there. every girl was slim, hot and standing around ready to be chatted up. gonna seriously look at moving closer to DT but its damn expensive. Oltorf is just as far from the south as I am from the north... no point
The W is a super nice place. I hit up Gingerman right around the corner afterwards last time I was there.
What’s that last part talkin ab. Oltorf is the south IMO. South of William cannon is practically the burbs
Im saying that oltorf is a 15 min drive away from DT, same as where I'm at now (northwest hills). I think closeness to the domain wins out...was thinking of moving to oltorf but not anymore.
...went and looked at a map again and you might be right...more like 8. IDK, the apartments I was looking at were a further drive?
Oltorf about to blow up. Oracle is almost done with their campus, which will bring a lot more related development. Then there's the whole south shore movement. Area's come a long from when I was down there for grad school and got my car broken into four times in three years.
Planning a Bachelor Party in Austin. I've been a couple times so I know the basics, but looking for a place to have a nice-ish dinner on Saturday. Right now I've got Jacoby's and Second Bar and Kitchen, but mostly because those are the two I've been to before. I thought Jacoby's was perfect but a little out of the way, and Second might be a little too stuffy for what we're looking for. Emmer & Rye is well reviewed and close to our Air BnB (we're in E Caesar Chavez just on the other side of I-35 from Rainey St.), but I don't get a bachelor party vibe there. I want something nice-ish (it's the only real planned event outside of bar hopping) but not something that's going to feel stuffy or be obnoxious about 12 somewhat inebriated men trying to have a good meal. A steakhouse is a fallback, but I don't love paying $50 a cut at some white tablecloth place.
