I love Jacoby's. It's only about a 7 min drive to Rainey and close to some great bars on the East Side as well.
Crawfish boil at a place called TLC noon til whenever tomorrow afternoon. Handful of good concerts tomorrow night. If weathers good Kite festival at Zilker Sunday. Might sound lame but gonna be a shit load of girls and dogs there so why not
Banger’s is kind of an in between and a good jump off point for night drinking. Moonshine’s a great choice as well, but make a reservation.
I’m going to four hours of electro house Saturday, does that count? Started putting together my SXSW schedule. Well, what I hope I can do... My body may be lol fuk u fukboi
Yeah I’ve been to moonshines too, but I didn’t see a way to make a reservation on their site? Was thinking about doing brunch there before everyone leaves town Sunday. We’re going to spend plenty of time at Rainey street, probably have lunch at Bangers or Friday dinner when not everyone is in town yet
ATX Cocina is a fun, good new spot downtown. It's upscale mexican if that isn't your thing. Emmer and Rye is cunty small plates.
And obligatory Red Ash post but not sure about reservation for a group that size. Old Thousand on 11th just east of downtown isn't fancy, but it would actually be really fun for a group like that. It's family style chinese food with good wine and cocktails. When I say not fancy, it's still a trendy downtown spot by a well known local chef and isn't typical Chinese. El Naranjo on Rainey Street is actually really solid too. It's small so try to get a rezzie. Or just do a reservation at Geraldine's. They might have live music playing and that place is great people watching.
Second on Old Thousand Also like Wu Chow get a lot of bang for your buck but not private seating to my knowledge
Yeah I did Geraldine's for brunch last time I was in Austin for a wedding, the Van Zandt was the wedding hotel.
Currently working from the Dogwood patio at the Domain in glorious 75 degrees texting my buddy in NYC who’s in some kind of winter tomb
I am heading down south today I expect to see all the liquor stores with ‘sold out’ signs and multitudes of scorched couches
Not soon enough Austin really needs to build the city's own arena, especially with UT going smaller on Erwin 2.0
