I've had pork belly some places that seems like it's 90% fat and no meat. no thanks. good pork belly is top tier meat though noble pig pork belly blt with a fried egg add on is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. used to go there regularly a couple years ago because it was right by the music school i took piano lessons at. Don't make it up north lamar too much anymore
noble pig, the original one was walking distance from my house. luckily it only moved 300 yards down the road

Worth $15-20 I’m probably gonna go if anyone else goes hit me up Also gonna go see Zoso at 3Ten next Saturday. Love the venue and as far as cover bands go they’re real solid. Also got tix for turnpike trubadors at ACL live 11/30
Loro Got the chicken karaage, pork belly, brisket, and chicken bo ssam. Plus the frozen mango sake. Very good
It was great. Happy hour is half off and a very good deal, normal price is $8 and it’s not very big. But delicious
I had the jungle curry and the pad kwetio, I wanted to try the tiger cry but the girl I took wasn't a huge meat eater so.... Next time.
anyone been to any of the restaurants or bars at the Fairmont? seeing IG stories from every hot girl I know there.
I know a girl from austin that has worked pretty closely with design teams on hotel and office interiors. She would die if anyone talked about their work like that. Super curious to see the Fairmont now.
It looks like a budget Disney World hotel. The architecture makes it look grand and elegant, but then you go inside and there’s a food court.
The main bar is an open air hotel bar with this ugly ass tree in the middle and what looks like a cheap pop up bar in the corner. It is super spread out. I love hotel bars and I think this one sucks.
Haven't been yet but this looks extremely disappointing given the hype surrounding the project. We desperately need hotel rooms in the downtown area so that's always a nice silver lining, but I don't see this being the "hangout" spot I was expecting it to be.
COTA wants to go full Dubai Spoiler A sprawling 1,037-acre sports and entertainment complex could one day rise around the Circuit of The Americas Formula One racetrack in Southeast Austin. Helipads, a hotel, condo towers, a water park, a soccer stadium, indoor sports facilities and restaurants are all possibilities under an ambitious vision from Circuit of The Americas LLC executives. They have started a major rezoning effort that will pave the way for developers to transform the site around the car-racing track and concert venue. Circuit of The Americas wouldn’t be the developer; the company would seek long-term tenants to sign leases to run projects surrounding the track. The updated zoning would come as Circuit of The Americas enters its last five years in its contract with Formula One to host the annual U.S. Grand Prix, currently the only race in the country for one of the world's premier motorsports — however, a Miami Grand Prix is possible in 2019. COTA Chairman Bobby Epstein said the company has not started negotiations for a new F1 contract. Although the facility already hosts hundreds of non-F1 activities every year, more mixed-use development would no doubt further diversify revenue streams at COTA, which would be key to its viability in case F1 ever departs. “The business struggled for several years. There were a lot of opportunities that came our way that I don’t think we were able to take advantage of,” Epstein said. “But now we’ve gone from survival mode to struggle mode and evolved to stability and now we can progress.” a new local team that would be part of the United Soccer League. Epstein is majority owner of Bold FC. This is separate from the soccer stadium deal that is in the works between the city of Austin and Precourt Sport Ventures to bring a Major League Soccer Team to Austin, with a permanent stadium at McKalla Place near The Domain. There was talk a MLS team could build a stadium at COTA but Epstein said Precourt Sports Ventures wasn’t interested in the site. However Epstein hasn’t completely ruled out negotiating a potential MLS deal at his racetrack. In the meantime Epstein is moving forward with building a 5,000-seat stadium for the United Soccer League team. Michele Rogerson Lynch, director of land use and entitlements with Metcalfe Wolff Stuart & Williams LLP, which is representing COTA for the zoning process. When Austin annexed the COTA property in 2012 it never established permanent zoning there. So even though COTA has been approached by developers to build projects there, it doesn't have the authority from the city to construct anything new yet. And while there have been big ideas tossed around, there is no definitive timeline or project proposal for what COTA leaders wants to see rise around their facility. That will all depend on market demand, developer interest and what projects can be hammered out, Epstein said. As covered by the Robb Report, onsite amenities would include an infinity pool fitness center, restaurants, a full-service spa, cigar lounges, an observatory, three helipads, rooftop bars and a car-themed arcade. Each of the 150 condo units will come with a membership to an exclusive car club that will give owners access to a fleet of 40 to 50 luxury sport scars — think Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLarens. Those will be stored in a fifth tower built on the inside of the track. The company also is selling 170 additional memberships to the car club that can be purchased even without a condo. So far Forza COTA Ventures has had about 400 inquiries and has serious interest from 12 potential condo owners and 20 people interested in the car club, Nezami said. “This is not just pie in the sky,” he said. However no condos can be sold until COTA receives its PUD zoning and Nezami closes a deal with the racetrack owners. The goal is to break ground on the condo project in 2019 and open in 2021. Big Red Dog Engineering and Consulting is the engineer for both Forza COTA Ventures and the COTA PUD process. Forza COTA Ventures is reviewing bids for a general contractor, Nezami said. Nezami said his the company will operate the three upscale restaurants. There will be a sushi and sake bar, a seafood-steakhouse concept and a high-end, new American eatery. What is this? My 3 months of work storm are starting to show signs of clearing up, just in time for football season. Need to meet some of the TMB Austin bros.
My little neighborhood made headlines in texas Monthly this month https://www.texasmonthly.com/news/sand-choking-lake-lbj-battle-looms-removal/
South congress hotel does a free music night in their courtyard the first Thursday of every month. Drink specials all night. Dj inside and outside after the band. And a very high concentration of hot girls prob 23-35yo. As far as hot girls per square feet of space (its real crowded until the band is done) it’s way up there
And it’s GD football season we’re gonna have to negotiate a southie northie agreement on somewhere to get some brews for some games. As self proclaimed warden of the south I’d do a home and home with you northies. One downtown. One at the domain. And both the USC and TCU gamedays we’ll definitely have a group out and about. Those two fanbases + Texas and Texas state all getting hammered downtown
FSU is at Green Light Social on West 6th, and there are a shockingly large amount of us...and yes, there are sloots. I'll be there Monday. Think I'm doing Domain Dogwood with a buddy on Saturday.
Going to the AU-UW game and not getting back til late Monday night. Next weekend I’m down for whatever on Saturday. Most of my friends are bobcats and don’t care where we watch games. I’m sure greenlight would be an easy sell.
Longshot I know, but is anybody interested in a Catahoula pup? have a co-worker moving to NYC and they have a 9 month old Catahoula they cant take with them if you know of anybody that might be interested, let me know and I can pass on more info
Can't speak for the domain since I've only been up there a handful of times. not counting super specific occasions, ie This Band and This venue, but still including special events on average: Top 10 in no particular order: Thursday nights in the fall (whatever the name for college night is) - Blind Pig Friday/Saturday - Greenlight Social (gets the edge over kung fu or the ranch due to smaller square footage but same number of females) Fri/Sat - Unbarlievable Blue on the green Barton Springs / Republic Square Park community Yoga nights in the summer. Might be #1 it's overwhelming Thursday Night - Gibson Bar ("bitches bubbles and bingo night") Sunday Afternoon - eeeeh toss up between Icenhauers and Lustre Pearl Rainey Friday Night - Native Hostel Soco 1st Thursday ACL Fest *BotG and ACL is a big area but there's so many I'm confident in the numbers *Wanted to include Barton Springs pool but it's hit or miss. Same with Shady Grove Acoustic Thursday *Excluded places like Barbs, Rio, Concrete because fuck those places
