I had friends coming in town for memorial day and was all pumped but they have all backed out. Work is beating me down lately. I too may just live on the couch. I also looked recently at buying a 2br downtown. Yeesh.
Looking at moving DT in early 2021 Got my eye on a building, just need to make sure my new job works out (feel good), a massive recession doesn’t hit (ehhhhhh) and need time to build a down payment Current place is a couple of miles from the new Apple campus. The profit I make off renting it out won’t wipe out the difference, but it’ll put a dent in it
I'm being slightly unrealistic, I'd love 70 rainey or austin proper or 4 seasons, just something that I feel like will hold its value with a view of the lake.
Brazos Place....it’s an older building, so not as inflated with amenities I don’t want or need At 8th and Brazos, so a little away from the craziness but close enough to take part in should I choose
HUGE NEWS: Beer-To-Go & TABC Sunset have passed the Texas Senate! We will issue a full press release tomorrow AM, but in the meantime, we want to take this moment to thank the craft beer community across Texas. This victory belongs to the thousands of you who have fought so hard for this moment. We also want to say a big thank you to Senator Dawn Buckingham our Beer-To-Go Senate champion, as well as Senator Brian Birdwell for his months of hard work on the Sunset bill, conducting an evenhanded stakeholder process that brought the whole industry to consensus on Sunset & Beer-To-Go! This legislation will represent the most comprehensive, positive reform to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code in a generation, serving the entire industry from the brewer down to the consumer. With this victory, we’ll become the final state in the country to legalize Beer-To-Go sales from manufacturing craft breweries and take a giant step forward in the fight to #FixTexasBeerLaws.

it's social szn. first BotG last night was good. Hitting up Shady Unplugged for the first time this year tonight for purples. Not shit on TV on weekends and some water on the greenbelt last week. All good things
You’re thinking about buying an apt at the four seasons? One of my family friends has one that I’ve stayed at a handful of times and it is the tits. Especially with the remodeled bar at the hotel
how far is the drive to San Antonio? Have a conference there starting Sunday night in September but trying to stay the weekend in Austin because...
With average traffic, about 75 minutes Depends a lot on where you leave from and where the conference is
Thanks. I assume the conference is near the river walk but if it is just 75 minutes, I'll probably fly into Austin Friday afternoon, stay downtown, hit some good restaurants and get BBQ before leaving Sunday afternoon for the conference.
Oh don't worry that idea got shot down real quick. I talked to my money person, "if you pay down all of your student loans (100k) and then put down 450k down payment I think its doable." Cool, see you in 2 years! Gonna rent for now but I don't see myself moving from downtown anytime soon.
it's real fun. packed with people and get a pretty good lineup. I think jackie venson is next week - chick that can shred on a guitar and plays mostly blues rock. we normally get a table at baby A's so you can sit down and eat and drink tequila while still hearing the music. Food kinda tough to get at Shady because of how crowded and the only real drinking option worth it there is beer. After getting a little buzz and eating = walk next door to shady and enjoy the views. lots and lots of females
Not sure if qualify for new but - Loro. Mandala Kitchen. TLC new pizza place was supposed to open next door to Alamo too
What time would you recommend getting in line for Franklins on a Friday? Been to Austin a ton of times but always for work and this will be the first time I get a chance to act like the bums that sit around for hours to get bbq.
My 30th birthday is on Thursday and I’ll be drinking like I’m 22 the night before. 6am isn’t happening unless I go from the bars to the line.
The earliest date I can do a preorder is line June 4th. I’m leaving Austin in June 2nd so I guess I’m a few days late.
took my dad here today and was great as usual. think the word is getting out, we were second in line but by the time we left there were prob 40-50 people in line. still need to get in on a saturday to get a beef rib though they said hopefully soon they will start having them everyday.
put down a deposit on premium and it's got me full of questions... anyone with experience in this help me out. So I selected 8 tickets and it's got me a group where 7 other people can make deposits in our group. Is it like college sports where this is basically my donation to Tigers Unlimited for Auburn football tickets and my eventual membership is only gonna count for 1 season ticket? So if there are couples getting in this group we'll need to count them as 2 of the 8 spots?
You can get multiple season tickets with one membership. I don’t think they specified a maximum number of ST. I see 8 but not an exact request
Yeah I did one deposit and requested 2 tickets, also in a “group” or whatever with some friends. I hope that means we can sit together when they release the tickets
that's what it sounds like. 1 deposit reserves a spot for 8 memberships, which I am starting to think "membership" is just a footie word meaning "ticket" so my deposit holds the spot for us to purchase 8 season tickets together. That group thing is confusing. I tried to send the referral link to my buddy and it prompted him to make a deposit and didn't show it connected to mine at all. the site says there's no need to make additional deposits for any of my 8 people.
