Because the fact that it happens so often that there’s a term for a “bad shoot” is pretty depressing, as is the fact that you have to indicate when shoots are good because of how many bad ones there are.
I can understand the incredulity with the use of “good shoot” and “bad shoot” if that’s the reasoning.
That's what I was getting at. It's exasperating that these are common enough that there's industry terms
Welcome to having a job? I don't even know what that means. So, I agree that cops and surgeons and oil rig workers have zero room for error and can't make mistakes, or people die. Is that what you thought I was saying, that we should give cops leeway to make mistakes? Because I wasn't. I was saying when the exposure they receive is exclusively of them fucking up, we form a false impression of how often they actually fuck up. If all we saw were the times a surgeon fucked up and killed someone, we'd never go to a hospital again. If all we saw were the times an oil rig worker fucked up and killed someone, we'd demand immediate reform of oil rigs. And if all we see is cops fucking up and killing people, we start to think cops are out here picking innocent citizens off like snipers. While it's true that cops make mistakes and kill people, surgeons make mistakes and kill people, and oil rig workers make mistakes and kill people, when we spotlight that, and only that aspect of what they do, it's not an accurate picture of reality. Again, if you sit at home and watch videos of dogs attacking people all day, you will have a very different impression of the next dog you see. Twisting that into: oh, so you are ok with dogs attacking people??? is fucking moronic.
While shitheads are going to be shitheads, the fact remains, if this were a black couple, this is on the front page of CNN and it's a racially motivated police killing. Do you disagree?
The classic "I don't care so much that I need everyone to know how much don't care" post. Classic. Stay gold, tit fucker
Uninformed far-right black Trump voters confront BLM, screaming nonsense like: When our babies get shot, bring ya'll ass out here then. I ain't seen none of you motherfuckers when them kids got killed. Ya'll don't come out when kids got shot. Ya'll come out when it's got something to do with the fuckin police. One of them then shakes hands with a cop. Disgusting. "all the police are not bad". Jesus.
Gotta get those kids into privately owned juvenile detention facilities somehow. Video posted today, happened in 2018. Kid was charged with felony battery.
I used to think the US constitution was strong enough to sustain an attack by trump. I used to think a civil would never occur. I really don’t know what to think anymore. It seems like some what the American experiment to fail. Better said maybe they want it to continue to succeed the way it always has.
My city had a "Back the Blue" rally happen today, apparently. A reported 80 people showed and apparently far less stayed for the speeches from our state Senator gunning to lose in the next gubernatorial election and our local shitheel Congressional rep per local news. If it was just the city's population, would be a whopping 0.3% turnout but if you assumed that people would be coming from the local metropolitan area (we're kind of in the middle of said metro area so it's a quick trip for just about anyone) as well that turns into a 0.025% turnout.
The Loop was awful last night. The police could have pushed the protesters out of the area but they enclosed them on all sides instead.
CPD was tweeting out mugshots and doxxing kids they arrested at the protest this weekend. They were catching all kinds of hell from the community. Finally took them down. But the damage is already done. Pieces of Shit
The article is behind a paywall but most of those dudes in the picture appear to be white, no? Not that it really matters just found it strange the picture is mostly white people
$224,000 a year Spoiler But in February, Strickland filed a federal lawsuit against Ujiri, the Raptors, Maple Leaf Entertainment at the NBA alleging Ujiri shoved him so hard on the court that he suffered physical injuries to his head, jaw, chin and teeth. Strickland also filed a workers' compensation claim alleging Ujiri “circumvented” the security checkpoint and then tried to “storm” the court and “hit him in the face and chest with both fists.” Strickland also claimed Ujiri had a “violent predisposition” and acted with an “evil motive amounting to malice,” according to his suit and workers' compensation claims. As for whether Strickland will ever return to work is unclear. According to Transparent California, Strickland earned $224,000 a year, not including benefits, in 2018. According to his suit, Strickland has been “prevented from attending to his usual occupation” and believes that will be the case “for a period of time in the future.” Strickland alleged he suffered such a “shock of injury to his nervous system” that he believes “will result in some permanent disability.” In addition to the physical suffering, Strickland also said his “emotional well-being” also took a blow. In February, KTVU cameras saw him out for lunch with his wife, carrying boxes and using a power saw in the spring outside his home.. In March, KTVU broke an exclusive story revealing that in 1994, Strickland was arrested and later convicted of insurance fraud, raising questions about his integrity, legal experts said. The fraud charge was discovered when Strickland was applying to be a San Mateo police officer in 2005 - a job he did not get.

jesus christ when they just dump him in that cell and throw a blanket over him. so fucking disturbing
That's fucking horrible to even try to read through it. They just didn't give a fuck if he lived or died. I don't get how they could just ignore that.
They found that none of the deputies and nurses violated policy, and no disciplinary action was recommended. The fuck, you watched a man die for hours.
