It would be so awesome if one of these had the balls to just shut down the department. Probably no way to actually do it but to hear them say it would still be cool
You really couldn't figure out a better time to carry out a warrant? https://apnews.com/article/pallbear...ecoReel&utm_medium=articlePage&utm_id=Taboola
Welp - LAPD officer raped someone under 14. https://news.yahoo.com/lapd-officer-arrested-alleged-rape-061527930.html
more and more I’m feeling good about not thinking of any cop as “one of ours”. My cousin who I love who I was extremely close with growing up is not “one of ours”. I just went to my aunts (his mom’s) funeral and sadly afterwards I found out he is a trumptard. I can’t imagine getting close to him again. It sucks but ACAB even my cousin.
This is fair - look I know some good dudes in LAPD that I work with regularly and will endlessly rant about how bad it is and they've filed complaints to higher ups yet nothing changes. There are also a lot of just complete pieces of shit in the department. I doubt either of these two items changes any time soon.
It's clearly systematic - when I have officers telling me if they have a complaint about another officer that nothing will get done about it and they'll be penalized more than likely for bringing it up - that comes from the top.
Cliffs: Oklahoma county deputies caught on recording talking about hiring hit men to kill reporters, lynching people and burying them in holes they already have prepared, several racist remarks, etc. Sherriff issues the following response (with comments turned off) saying the recording was illegal and claims it has been altered and is threatening felony charges for whoever recorded it… but no disciplinary action for deputies. they took it down, so here is the text:
If this is true, it changes the story a lot. According to the release, the resource officer told TPD that the student went to school with his left ear pierced and shared with his classmates that his dad was drunk, put him in a chokehold, and shoved the piercing in his ear.
Oh I didn’t see that. I just saw the video but went and looked up the news and yeah that’s messed up. Happened in the town my brother lives in.
Apparently the kid may have told that story at school and the resource officer heard about it but the son said he wanted the piercing. Maybe someone gave him shit for it and he said his dad did it. I don’t see the reason all those officers needed to respond that way for something like that. Bit excessive.
Local mayor race is so damn gross. Deegan (D) says she wants to "hold cops accountable" and the police of course backed the other guy (R) and he's using it like she hates cops and is going to defund the police. Sheriff said her comments made his cops less safe. How on earth is holding cops accountable a bad thing?
Had no clue Deegan was in politics now. Channel 4 was my local station growing up, and I think I left around the time she left Hicken for Deegan. I remember Dan coming to speak at my school's 8th grade graduation.
I mean if I was committing crimes all the time I’d feel less safe if someone told me they wanted to hold me accountable
Happens every time. Look up all the cops that got fired for anything (besides reporting corruption) and you'll find the same fucking story. They go up the road to a small town or county and get another job
