that's the idiot mentality . GOOD FOR U . YOU STILL CANT EVEN HAVE A NORMAL CONVERSATION . EDIT ADD ON : oh and thrasher are you a police officer or are you impersonating one ?
Seems good in theory. In reality all it does is muddy the waters further and will likely lead to more deaths.
I have noticed my hatred for police officers has subsided a bit since I moved to a state where I can legally smoke weed
In theory, you should be able to defend yourself from getting your ass beat by a cop without catching a resisting arrest charge for doing so. In theory, you shouldn't have to be a punching bag with no reaction.
That doesn't look great. Also man bun http://patersontimes.com/2017/07/14...ce-under-fire-for-questionable-vehicle-search
That busting into cars is a lot more common than you'd think in low income areas Had a client put a camera in his car bc he's a paranoid gang member and caught an undercover officer trying to search his car. Ended up getting a gun case dismissed and the cops on desk duty now
open and shut case, Johnson. The cop is going to say they got a report of a van with a bunch of guns in it, then saw what looked like a bunch of guns in this van. "Police cannot search vehicles without consent or warrants. However, there is something called the plain view doctrine that allows officers to conduct a search upon observing contraband inside a vehicle, said a former high ranking police official."
seems like it would be easier to arrest a gang member without resorting to violations of civil rights. The ends justify the means?
I'm just laughing at people like beo and dbl that hate the cops so much they get excited a gang member gets away with carrying a presumably illegal weapon.
How does that feel? To find laughter in the infringement of others' constitutional rights because "presumably"?
He just has a boner for OopsPowSurprise and tries to pick an argument with him as much as he possibly can, it's quite disturbing to see.
We need an accountable police force that doesn't resort to committing crimes under the guise of combating crime
Pretty scary to think how this could happen to somebody, and there's nothing they can do to prove their innocence. This cop fucked up and got caught, I wonder how many other cops pull this shit and get away with it. Nothing makes me grit my teeth more than false imprisonment, hope these guys get charged.
It happens more often than you think Lots of people in prison who pled to avoid losing at trial and facing a 3x as long sentence
Anyone following the shooting in Minneapolis shooting? I catch bits and pieces of it everyday but honestly the more I hear the more I saw wtf. Woman calls 911 to report she hears a possible sexual assault behind her house. Cops show up and she walks up to the driver side to speak with them and within just a few seconds the officer in the passenger seat pulls his gun and shoots her dead. Literally shot across his partner in the driver seat.
they released the audio of after he shot her, but it doesn't tell much. I think they are still saying they are investigating it and will let everyone know what they find.
"The officer has been placed on administrative leave until people forget about this whole incident upon which we'll slowly transition him back to exactly what he was doing before or let him move to a nearby police department."
Yeah the lack of oversight amongst departments is the most troubling Seems like you could fuck up in Florida and move to like Ohio and be fine
These plained-clothed, multi-agency tasks forces are a perfect example of how out of control policing has gotten. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ion-and-brutality-scandal-this-is-nothing-new Spoiler None of this is new, or particularly surprising. These task forces have a long history of misconduct, of violence and of running roughshod over constitutional rights. It was a task force that killed Georgia pastor Jonathan Ayers. The same task force was involved in securing the warrant for a raid in which a toddler was critically injured by a flash grenade. Another Georgia task force shot and killed David Hooks in 2014. It was a task force that shot and killed 11-year-old Alberto Sepulveda. It was a South Carolina task force shot Julian Betton multiple times, then lied about whether they knocked and announced, and whether Betton had fired his weapon. The Minnesota cop recently caught assaulting a motorist in a road-rage video that went viral was a member of a task force that boasts about “aggressive enforcement.” An Ohio task force member shot and killed Krystal Barrows in 2013. It was a Utah task force that shot and killed Todd Blair during a nighttime drug raid. The same task force then lost one of its own members after another nighttime raid resulted in a shootout with Matthew David Stewart. That task force had taken out bus ads featuring members dressed in full battle armor, encouraging citizens to call in tips about drug use. Radley Balko is an awesome writer and does great work with the Washington Post. If you haven't read his book "Rise of the Warrior Cop" and care about the state of policing in America, it's a must-read.
It's not "getting excited," but more a much needed balance that keeps our government in check. Have you been around/witnessed serious abuse of power? Because when you talk about non-punishable by life type crime and then you compare it to these guys swearing to uphold the truth but then racking up felonies themselves, I do believe one is worse than the other. It's not the idiotic criminals I'm more upset with in that comparison.
In the OSU pitcher thread Watson said a convicted pedophile (who happens to be white) shouldn't lose his rights that he should be allowed to move on. Here a gang member from New York should lose his rights. I wonder what in Warson's minds eye is the race of said gang member. I could be wrong and Watson could assume he is a member of The Van Buren Boys. OopsPowSurprise was he a member of The Van Buren boys?
Way more to this story including probation status of the registered owner which allows for a search of the vehicle... Also..lol at "task force" being thrown out because he's in plain clothes with his badge, gun, uniformed patrol officer and marked car visible in the video.
I actually like this. That department is dumb for hiring people for the wrong reasons. It's not about being the best candidate anymore. We have an officer in our department that shot the "good guy" target on her "last chance" tactical qualification but because she checked the right boxes they passed her because her slugs missed the good guy target completely. She's now in all the recruitment posters and on the back of the city buses. Hooray!
It's interesting that there's only a problem in the system when females and minority officers fuck up, perhaps this opinion should apply to white male officers who fuck up as well.
Yet when an incompetent white officer shoots someone it's defended, incompetence should be criticized regardless of the officer's race and 1 incompetent female/minority should not be used as the standard for the collective group.
I will roast any cop when he fucks up, regardless of race or gender. Cops fucking up is not a political talking point for me though so I dont give a crap what the race or gender is.
Who brought up cops fucking up as a political talking point? Go somewhere else with that bullshit, cops fucking up is about the fucking safety of those who are the victims of cops fucking up. I have yet to see any of the cops on this board criticize shit done by a cop, of course unless they're females or minorities.
No it's not dude. It's about political talking points and ratings. It's only a concern if it can generate ratings and clicks.
