“We want an adult at qb so we’re going after the guy who’s been accusing of sexually assaulted 22 women” I mean Jesus
Love that we have like 5 or 6 QB vs own team threads. The NFL QB drama and college coaching searches are fun. Two of my favorite off season things to follow
After the Watson signing, I called Ryan to the Colts, Mayfield to the Seahawks, and Jimmy G to the Panthers. That just makes the most sense to me.
there's no way. it's just seattle and carolina at this point that are in need. and teams with bad qbs (goff in detroit, mariota in atlanta) arent going to use draft capital to get a guy who isn't very good.
What if he refuses to play? Doubt he would pass up the money he is owed, but damn. Bitter people do strange things
There’s gotta be something seriously wrong going on with mayfield. If a team starting Sam Darnold at qb doesn’t want you something is seriously up. Cause darnold is probably the worst starter in football
what the fuck does this mean? 2/2 The #Browns are budgeted for Mayfield's 5th-yr option salary of $18.8M w/ Watson on the team. Mechanically this means the team is artfully in position to leverage his presence on the roster for a longer window. Meanwhile, Mayfield's not in position to protest in a good light. "The Browns are budgeted for Mayfield" means "They're not over the cap." But what the hell does the rest of it mean?
Maybe or some teams tried, but the Browns price was ridiculous. Who knows, but I would like to see him on new team.
yes, that's the first part. now tell me please what "mechanically this means the team is artfully in position to leverage his presence on the roster" and "Mayfield's not in a position to protest in a good light" means. and why the idea of Mayfield needing to just be quiet and be a backup has anything to do with the salary cap and the artfully leveraged position?
I guess they’re saying that Baker needs to play so he can get a big second deal? If he rots on their bench next season, who is going to give him a fat contract if this was supposed to be his “prove it” year?
