Holy shit. Posted this nearly four fucking years ago and still just pathetically tried chasing that dragon. Tomorrow I say fuck it and take the plunge of shaving it all off.

I have these... which I think I paid well more than the $42 they're selling for now. Anyway. They work great, charge them once a month or so but I don't think the battery has ever died on me.

I had another brand of cordless before these and those were fine too... but dropped them and broke a piece of the metal hair guide thingy. Would scratch the shit out of my scalp, even after I filed the broken bit down. Would have cost just as much to buy the replacement part and get it shipped than just buy a new set of clippers.

 

guys that are balding that try to hide it are the worst... breaking down and buzzing my head several years ago was the best thing i ever did.

I buy new clippers often because I suck at taking care of them. $115 is great if they're the last pair I'll ever own but knowing myself I'll turn them to shit in no time.

 

I've had my Oster for 5 1/2 years and only clean it with the brush after every use (usually twice a week) and it runs like new.

there's also this version that's pretty well thought of but can't have as many different blade lengths I think.

yeah, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to that. But that was kinda my point, even without oiling like I should, those clippers are still in great shape 5 years in.

Kinda like when I was 7 years old and I was petrified of going off the high dive for the entire summer. Finally nutted up and it was fucking great. Did it like 30 more times that day after that, totally wished I had been doing it all summer.

Bald spot is in back and what you described deals with the hairline and pulling braids or pony tails too tight.

Any pulling when experiencing mpb is going to make it worse, I promise you. The most noticeable baldness from constantly wearing your hair up, is the hairline, but it is happening all over the scalp. And it's not really that it's just too tight, in guys cases, it's that they're doing it every day.
