The guy has 2 goals and 7 assists this year in 32 appearances this year Messi has 23 and 10 Last year 6 and 19 in 62 appearances for Xavi. Hell Fabregas produced more than that in 29 EPL games. Last year Messi had 49 and 11 in 64 games. People say Xavi is the conducter that makes it all run. I say bullshit. It's just as much Messi, Iniesta, and Sergio as him. This year Villa too. They are running around all day as well creating these open passing lanes. Messi is in the middle of all the buildup always looking for that dagger ball and is actually better than Xavi at finding it. Xavi is just a pawn who helps the king and the bishops get into striking position. Barca replace Xavi with Cesc and lose nothing. Who do you replace Messi with?

I'm a moron because Cesc produces more than Xavi and is a better player for Spain than Xavi is. Xavi connects with more passes because that is the only game he has. He cannot dribble anyone and take a shot on like Iniesta, Villa, and Messi can. All he can do is pass it to them and hope that they can produce something special. I'll take a passer just as good who happens to be the best dribbler and one of the best if not the best finisher in the world in Messi or one of the best dribblers and passers in the world in Iniesta.

I honestly think he should win it either way, but the World Cup pretty much determines who wins even though he carried his team to the final and Xavi was pretty meh. That's the way it goes, though. I think we can all agree that they are both faggits in any case.

Because he's always the one bringing it up the field and he's always the one switching the point of attack. It's only been pretty recent that Messi has started wandering the middle of the field and acting more like a midfielder.

If he's not scoring he's creating chances for those around him. Ronaldo gets half his goals from set pieces and doesn't create shit for those around him.
