Yeah she's written essentially this same article multiple times. It reeks of complete jealousy. It's going to be great content when she's laid off and Pres reaches out 500 times to hire her.
i dont think she is jealous. i think she legitimately believes everything she writes. i don't really have that big of a problem with the article. i cant believe she is still employed after writing the article totally bashing her employer though. if what kmarko said is true and they're laying off 35% of their workforce in june, they probably just decided to do it then instead of a month earlier.
She probably does believe it but then why hasn’t she written about this before? The timing shows not only does she believe what she says but she can’t believe he’s getting all this attention.

I think her core thesis of "PFT Commenter working at Barstool makes him one of the bad ones and we should boycott his work as well" is pretty bullshit. Blaming him for what his co-workers say or do is tantamount to not buying a Ford because their U.S. president got fired for harassment, or boycotting a Mario Batali affiliated restaurant because he might make money off of it even though the chefs, managers, waiters, etc. might be great people. Of course he's going to no comment allegations of rape culture or whatever at Barstool. It's pretty stupid to try to bring him down and ruin one of the great success stories in her (dying) industry because she's jealous of him. Just seems like a losing fight that will only serve to alienate people.
The assumption they operate under that everything else produced by barstool not produced by PFT is real is maddening.
He's a fantastic writer, but he feels that if he USES ALL CAPS or throws in a gratuitous "fuck" that it makes him into Hunter S. Thompson. He set Deadspin's arrogant, sanctimonious, and whiny tone because everyone they've hired in the past 8 years is trying to be his clone.

True. The impact would've been much higher if he had highlighted that. Honestly anything written towards them should be centered around that fact and why that might cause them to lash out with shitty content.

i cant remember the show/program but it was a few years ago when maybe costas, along with buzz bissinger, interviewed will leitch. buzz had been a critic of deadspin, not necessarily over the articles they wrote, but due to their comment section. time is a flat circle i guess. also, another deadspin employee: if anyone critiques his tweet/ds article he goes 'you cant read' or 'you dont get it' instead of actually engaging them. portnoy says something, they fly off, their former editor says 'a celebrity sex tape would not be newsworthy if the child was under four' well, that's just aj being aj. current deadspin writers strike me as people who sit around and smell their own farts.
