without having listened i am gonna take a wild stab in the dark and assume bro is being weird and over invested in an ohio st related story and thus here we are
pretty much rambled on for 3 minutes about how OSU is obsessed with beating Michigan and Michigan has more important things on their agenda, like winning national titles. Went on to give a pretty generic defense of Harbaugh but just seemed all around triggered by Big Cat's prodding and went super Michigan Man/Michigan Matters to the max. He was a great interview. Combative but in a good way
Eisen is there with Dan Patrick (and SVP, although I doubt he'll ever be back on...) as the "big names" that get it and are actually good in the interviews.
Katz has an annoying habit of relentlessly speaking over every guest as well as pft. Think Rich had it with that shit.
At some point he did but Eisen did do what Big Cat said he’d do. Pft was definitely good cop in that interview
Yeah, I mean there’s not much to say. Anything and everything rings hollow and will be derided when the rivalry is this one-sided in favor of OSU (see any B1G football thread). But at the same time the university is not going to do better than Harbaugh so there’s no hot seat. I wish Katz in general would do and say less. He’s become overbearing at times on the pod and even stuff like the BSS advisor vignettes.
I don’t mind Trent as most people but after hearing Lurch on the last few episodes of fore play it’s pretty wild he’s been there the whole time just behind the scenes and not on the show
Dave eluded to that yesterday on radio. He wouldn’t let them play the video and they wouldn’t have talked about it but Clay’s response came right as they went on air and Tommy brought it up. Dave said he didn’t want to talk about it on air and give Clay any shine.
Probably has him on the height, but isn’t Dave worth significantly more than Travis? Not to mention, substantially more talented plus creative freedom? Travis is always getting bossed around by whatever company he works for.
I would guess Dave is worth north of $100 million, assuming he still owns a third of barstool, and hasnt pissed his money away.
Lol no way dude. Dave might be worth 30-50mm if he was financially conservative. He’s not. Worth 25 and liquid 3-5. ETA: any net worth tied up in a company like barstool is super hard to measure until somebody signs a contract for a specific number. Dave’s worth on paper vs Dave’s worth at a market clearing price are probably pretty fluid and disparate numbers
His barstool stake alone was worth $35 million last January. I would guess that’s significant increased over the last year.
I think Dave has spoken in the past of having somewhere in the range of 10-15 in the bank. I would bet almost all day to day stuff outside his apartment is covered by Barstool. So his gambling loses are his only big expense. And he has turned those into content and sponsorship deals so....yeah I think he is ok.
His first sale to chernin was $15 million I believe which went to him, the last finding round diluted him to 1/3 owner at a value of over $100 million in January of last year. If I had to peg his net worth, not just his liquid net worth I’d bet on paper he’s worth around $80-100 million.
I watched the Bouldering World Championships on ESPN2 on my flight Sunday. Upper body strength on those girls was wild.
I believe the accurate math is that he sold a 50% stake to Chernin at a 15mm valuation, so net 7.5 to him. If he then did a sale that diluted him to 33% then he sold 17% at 100mm so he netted another 17. Round up that’s 25 from his stake in Barstool. With, in theory, another 33 in the tank if his stake is liquid. So it cooould be 50 if he’s never dipped into it. That puts us at roughly half a hundred and we haven’t factored in his lifestyle which, if he really is the gambler he says he is and he really flys on all the private jets he takes pictures on, is not increasing due to compound interest and has not been for a couple years. Any guy in that wealth bracket who can’t not talk about the stock market at least twice a day (especially Dave who lords his big wins over people) and spends that much money keeps their wealth in cash which does not grow, and that’s my bet with Dave.
I believe he netted $15 originally or that’s what I’d always read, the second raise that diluted him to a third was raised at a valuation of “over $100 million,” which likely means $110 or somewhere in that neighborhood. I would assume (and to be fair there’s no other way since barstool is private) that barstool is probably worth close to $150-175 with the value Chernin has added, the additional content they’ve added over the last 12 months, and their continued ramp in growth which we can again assume is stratospheric given it’s the only reason they would’ve gotten not just one but two investments from a media mogul like Chernin. I think it’s a pretty fair guess to say he’s worth $80 million on paper. Given what he’s been paid and the valuations they’ve raised at and assuming a pretty healthy jump in value over the last 12 months which I don’t think is unreasonable. That said this whole conversation is all conjecture on both sides.
