Does anyone here play Battlefield? I've been playing Hardline but I'm getting annoyed with the smaller maps. I'm thinking about picking up Battlefield 4. Anyone play 4?

I play 4 on PS4. Hardline is the first BF I didn't buy. I've played very battlefield iteration since 1942, but after playing the hardline beta I decided I had no interest in it. Maybe I'll buy it when it's $20, but they keep releasing new stuff for 4.

Yea. Hardline was actually my first BF I've ever bought. I played a lot of COD on Black Ops 2 and got Advanced Warfare and it pissed me off because people could go invisible or jump across maps. But I'm actually thinking about going and buying BF4. Right now I can buy BF4 Premium on XboxOne for $60 which seems kinda high but I've heard it's really not worth it now unless you get premium so you get the new maps and everything.

Honestly Hardline is a bit disappointing. I play on Hardcore on COD so having to spray someone with a full clip to kill them is really annoying to me. The graphics are cool and some of the maps are solid but it's pretty generic honestly. If I could do it over again, I'd probably just buy BF4 and skip Hardline but like you said, once it's $20 or so it'd be worth it just to have something different.

There are still plenty of people playing 4. I understand they're working on more maps and features for 4 as well. There should also be a hardcore mode in hardline unless they took it out. I've been playing hardcore BF 4 for months now and switching back is frustrating.

Maybe I have to browse by servers to find it on hardline? Is that normal with BF?

i didn't realize they were still making new maps for BF4 so I'll probably end up having to get the premium version so I'm not a shit load behind and don't have any maps but the ones that came with the game a year and a half ago. Haha.

I actually find hardline pretty fun. It's just not a typical battlefield game, so I understand the hate. I've played more or less every battlefield game starting with BF1942. Top 3 game series for me. Hardline brings a very different flavor, but it is still pretty fun for me. I've enjoyed standard death match and then the two counter-strike type game modes the most (hostage rescue and VIP). Heist is pretty fun as well. I haven't tried the car chase game mode yet.

Hotwire is fun but gets pretty repetitive honestly. Only so much you can do with it. Blood Money isn't bad but you'll run into teams that just drive straight to your vault and wait for your teammates to come and snipe them before they can drop off the money. Heist is a solid mode. I play a lot of conquest but I've found conquest large seems to glitch on me a lot.

I have a hard time with conquest large too because my bad habits of running directly to the point like in COD gets me killed a lot. I've learned to take it a lot slower in BF. My only real complaint is that death match is really shitty because the maps aren't quite that big so you'll spawn beside enemies a lot and get killed. I've heard so much about BF4 that it seems like I need to at least give it a shot now that I've kinda eased myself into BF.

BF4 is great, and I would recommend giving it a try. I did notice that the maps were a little more congested when I was playing deathmatch. I think that hostage rescue is probably the best one. 3 minute rounds with no respawns.

Yes go in the browse menu and change the filter to hardcore. Just doing quick join will put you in a standard server. Doing this helps you find servers that you like as well.

Okay. That makes sense. Being new to BF I was kinda confused by the server browser. Shooting people 8 times or more to kill them was really annoying. Basically have to reload after every kill.

Yes that's a big complaint people have who are traditionally cod players. That and that the maps are too big.

Head shots are real critical on bf games. Especially headline.

Not as important if you play hardcore. I haven't played regular in a while, but I'm sure I'd be infuriated by how many bullets it would take to kill someone when two hits in hardcore is a kill.

    i play some BF3

BF4 still has some stuttering problems on my PC. On a FPS that is a recipe for frustration

Hardline freezes for me and lags pretty often and it pisses me off. It also will let you die after you've taken cover. Im still looking to buy BF4. PSN ran a special a week or so ago, could get BF4 Premium for $24.99. It's stayed at $59.99 on Xbox Live. I'm probably just gonna have to drop the $60 on it. I don't see the reason for buying the game if I'm not getting premium to catch all the DLC I've missed and that's coming up.

yeah i think that playing older-generation FPS'es is sometimes better

newer ones are always plagued with glitches, performance problems, and cheaters.

Hardline got a DLC this week. I think it's open for everyone in another week.

Supposedly the new maps are pretty nice and some of the new guns are good as well. I'm excited to see how everything plays. The game got a lot of flack but for what it is, it's solid.

BF4 got the fall update today. Lots of gun and vehicle tweaks as well as the community developed map. Also the squad leader has a feature now where if a squad member requests an objective and the leader doesn't assign one in 30 seconds, the player requesting the objective is promoted to squad leader.
