5 week break after finals and debating getting one of these. I play almost exclusively for multiplayer, so which one is better in that regard? Saw BF3 blew MW3 out of the water on voting in this category.
The question you have to ask yourself is do you want a game that you can just pick up and play with a small learning curve(MW3), or do you want a game that will take you a few weeks of getting your ass kicked before you learn the ropes.(BF3). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWPB2ipyPsg (Sorry about the music but it was a good montage)
I have no idea what you guys are talking about when you say BF3 takes longer to learn. If you want to be good at COD it actually takes kind of a while to find all the good cover spots that you can flow to and from. Unless you're talking about flying helicopters/jets it's pretty easy to get the hang of BF3. If you want a game that has a big learning curve play GOW3.
I agree about the cover spots, but if you know how to shoot and run with some amount of skill you can easily go positive in MW3. BF has 4 classes each with their own important role in helping your team win. If you don't know about throwing out health kits and reviving when you have the assault kit, and just basically running around as a foot soldier then you aren't using the kit correctly. If you are a engineer, and you aren't laying down landmines and repairing vehicles, and just rocketing vehicles and running and gunning then you aren't using that kit correctly. A tank/helicopter is nearly an unstoppable force if you have a good engineer always ready to repair you. If you are a recon, and all you are doing is sniping then you are aren't using that kit correctly. A good sniper will spot enemies and lay down spawn points in strategic locations while always feeding your team enemy positions and armor.Sniping in BF3 has the highest learning curve because of bullet drop and lead. You can shoot sniper for a month, and still have problems hitting long distance head shots. Lastly support if all you do is set up like a machine gun nest spraying enemies then you aren't using that kit correctly. You can unlock a mortar, and suppressing fire is key to taking down heavily defended areas. Plus you carry ammo, so you should be supplying your teammates ammo any chance you get.
Battlefield is the best out of the two. I picked up on it pretty quick but I have played BF games and similar games before.
That's the key BF games are easy to pick up if you have played BF games in the past, but if you are going from COD to BF it's very difficult to get acclimated to its play style when you first pick it up.
I know what you're saying. I like both, but I see myself putting in BF3 a year from now and not MW3. If you have ADHD and need to get a ton of kills and deaths then play MW3. IMO camping on BF3 is much more effective than COD, so if you need to sprint around the whole time you might not like it. If you like to relax and mess around with vehicles then get BF3. I like objective game types, so conquest is great, but if you play TDM strictly I would rather have COD. My buddies and I would rather pop in BF3. Also BF3 sounds like you would imagine a war would sound like if you've got some descent sound. It really is apples to oranges when comparing them though, they just both happen to be military shooters.
True, you have a lot of people that have only ever played the COD series. Many of my friends only have a PS3 or Xbox for COD and NCAA
If you have been a Cod player in the past, you may not enjoy BF3, thats how it was for me and some friends. we been Cod players all along and decided to pick up BF3 after all the hype. Just way to different for our liking. If you have a group of guys that you'll be playing with alot, BF3 can be alot of fun. but if not, its a real challenge as randoms don't like communicating with other randoms thanks to the fucking little kids.
Headed home for winter break after loving MW3 as a pick-up-and-play in my friend's dorms. Then returned home for a month of picking up Battlefield for the first time (never touched the series) and playing. And don't want to go back to school. Battlefield admittedly has a learning curve, is harder to go positive with KDR in, and can be frustrating at first. But the kills feel like so much more of an accomplishment, the weapons and classes are balanced but also easy to find favorites in, and as the name admits you feel part of a larger battle rather than trying to chase killstreaks. The realistic health and battlefield roles interested my Marine dad, and the way the game makes you actually care about what's going on (as well as the huge scale of maps) will give you longer play life and interest. Just my four cents.
Like most with testicles I strum the 360 I'll pm you my gamercard, but mid January will be cut off from this glorious game
