Your bge will more than likely last a long ass time. Bigger initial investment almost always results in a longer life expectancy of a product in my experience.
Edgy. If you've never cooked on another brand kamodo, you should. I've seen a primo in action and used a bge and my Akorn. They are all the same.
I agree. A large part of the purchase is warranty, customer service and available accessories. How much those are worth to you really determine what brand of ceramic grill you want to buy. Other than that, most are very similar in how they cook.
What does a couple cooking experiences have to do with regretting buying your BGE? It's going to last much longer Do you really want to say no one should just buy bges and buy akorns
No I'm not. For some reason you wanted to argue about me saying no one worth a shit has ever regretted buying a bge
Yea you ate. I never said " no one should just buy bges and buy akorns" . I just said you were being edgy and that they all cook the same.
Hey hey, let's all stop this nonsense and someone post some damn bbq, because I know someone's got to have theirs running today.
So are you saying they're the same or they're not the same? An Akorn isnt as good as a primo either. They're just not. There's a reason ones significantly more expensive.
I've had food on all 3. Temp control was great. Food was great. To me, they're the same regarding food and temp control.
You are an idiot. How can you not see someone wanting one over the other? Saying no one worth a shit would have an opinion lime that? Gtfo with that Fanboy nonsense
24, pretty much never grilled, looking to start. Any recs on good books and a half-decent grill to start with? Will be cooking mostly for myself or a couple freinds.
You can't speak for everyone. I don't regret buying my bge. You don't either. Maybe someone does though. It's really not that big of a deal.
I think there's four or five of us who have this grill and I haven't heard a negative opinion about it yet aside from it not being a BGE.
So are rib racks unnecessary? I haven't done ribs yet, but I've been thinking I need to get rib racks for it to turn out well.
Rib racks help fit more on and can help get more even cooking since more air flow gets around the ribs, but they aren't necessary, especially if you are going to wrap the ribs.
get a Weber Kettle grill. Great basic charcoal grill that will last forever for you. You can learn to grill on it and even transition to smoking.
I got the silver version (~100 or so $) as my first grill. Never would regret that decision - you can do just about anything you want with it. Once you have been using it for a while you may want to transition to a real smoker, but until that point it is a fantastic grill.
I have the Weber Platinum. it's just the kettle with the table attached and has grates for smoking. Still use it from time to time if I am smoking more than my Akorn can hold. Still a really good grille.
I think I've read that the liquid in the beer can doesn't flavor the meet at all. So if that is the case it defeats the purpose of using alcohol to begin with, but what the hell.
Already drank half of the can. Unless I open up another bottle I'm going to end up drinking the rest long before the chicken goes on.
Ribs turned out really good. Did one set with the standard BBQ sauce and the other set with a honey glaze. The honey glaze turned out great and my wife liked those better than the sauce ones.
Did some chicken thighs and some corn tonight but I was lazy and didn't take any pictures Was delicious though
I did ribs as well but on a smaller scale. The sauce is 50/50 Blues Hog BBQ & Blues Hog Red Finished product
