Sounds great, but if I had my smoker I'd be making ribs or a butt. Smoker and grill are in storage until I move this summer
Maybe I'll get some ribs, marinate them in Dales with some liquid smoke, roll them up and wrap in foil then toss in the crock pot.
pro tip, dont marinate them just lay them in the crock pot and dump a bottle of dales on top of them. wrap at the 7 hour mark
Beer. We need beer. You doing a tailgate tomorro? Feels so weird not having tons of people in this weekend
So I did a deep clean on my grill (propane/charcoal combo Nexgrill) after changing my diffusers (which had rusted out). After doing this my burners won't put out hardly any flame (like 1/4" on all three burners). I wound up replacing the burners as well (since they were starting to rust out too), but I'm still getting next to no flame. Going to change out the hose & regulator next, but outside of that anyone have any thoughts? Thinking about using this as an excuse to get a new grill, and I've had three people recommend Hollands. Any other recs? Wanting to spend less than a grand.
What do you use the grill for, how often, and how many People do you usually cook for? I agree with above, for an everyday grill, I love my genisis with 3 burners plus the sear. Mine is hard wired to natural gas
dblplay1212 Do you have instructions (seasonings, cook temp/time, internal temp) for tri tip. Might try it tomorrow. Sorry if already posted
Check the OP. All in there. Super easy. For seasoning just use what you like on beef. Salt and pepper is fine or you can use other stuff. I prefer Bovine Bold but any beef rub will work.
Just picked up a rack of short ribs and some Conecuh to put on the smoke tomorrow. I really wanted a plate of big beef ribs but the store didn't have any.
Doing my first pork shoulder tommorow morning. It's only 4.5 lbs, if I smoke @ 225 on the Akorn how long am I looking at until I get to 195 ?
Probably at the very least an hour and a half per pound. Don't schedule anything around it, when it's done it's done. I've had similar butts take 7 hours, and also take 10. Hard to gauge exactly. Start it earlier than you think you need to and hope it finishes early. They hold pretty well in an insulated cooler.
At 225 plan on an hour and a half per pound at least and let it rest a minimum of a half hour before pulling
