My spirits are very good. Mostly vodka but some bourbon. Rabid is a great cook so losing by 1 point is fine, and idk if you saw but the Razorbacks are destroying Texas.
I just wanted to make the joke that the person who voted for me 1st place had the best taste.

What’s a good meat thermometer? I have a digital one but I want one that I don’t have to open the smoker up to check it. Doing a pork butt next weekend.
I put it on low, not sure where it was but I know it was under 225. I had rub and everything else ready to go. Wife woke me up on the couch, stood up, threw it on and was probably asleep in less than 2 minutes. Was also drinking, more than I should have.
Edit: I remember I opened up my back door and lid. Walked back in and grabbed the butt with my bare hands, lol. Put it on, washed my hands and then went to bed.
Gonna be a good day, had some tri tip and eggs for breakfast. I cannot get over how easy that was and it’s absolute dynamite.
Bravo Willpépé , in all my years of bbq, I have never forgot about something on the smoker. Briefly for got about something on the grill needing attention and a little char, absolutely. But a whole cut of meat on the smoker? Well done sir.

Second judge had me at 5. Clearly hates ginger and therefore has a questionable palate (like my wife).
Threw the roast on at 8am along with a bone in butt. The butt is already at 170, the roast has been stuck in the low 150s for an hour
Take a look at the Maverick. It’s like $80 on Amazon and it’s done really well for me so far.

Whats the best/easy way to cook picanha? Kinda just want to get it like a brazilian steakhouse. Never cooked it before and they are already in steaks
Only time I’ve cooked it I did a reverse sear and it was fantastic.

Smoking some meats this weekend and want some apps and wanna do something different. Bacon Wrapped poppers and cubed pork butt burn ends and deviled eggs are getting a bit tiresome.
Anyone have anything they've done recently that's been good?

the smoked bone marrow on toast points with sautéed mushrooms and a really salty dry cheese that I recently did was the absolute ripe tits.
Also, dates stuffed with chorizo and/or goat cheese, bacon wrapped, and drizzled with maple syrup is nice.
Also, pears done the same as above with prosciutto is fantastic.
That would be dope. Wonder where I can get whole bones and more specifically I assume I need them cut in half.
Call some butchers and see if they have some beef bone canoes. I doubt it is something that is gonna be found at chain.

Idk, the place I can get them calls them bone canoes. I do not know if that is an industry term or what.
I prefer mine with cottage cheese and a nice sprinkling of bagged shredded cheddar
I bought them once there like 10 years ago, but the bones were smaller (maybe 4-5”) and whole. Roasted them standing up and then spooned the marrow out.
My wife didn’t like it (ew gross texture) and that’s why it’s been 10 years since my last roasted bone marrow adventure.
My wife literally eye-raped me when I said I was smoking bone marrow. Ya’ll need to be more choosey with your women.
I'd prefer to not impregnate my wife again, so maybe bone marrow is off the menu
Popped my tri tip cherry this past weekend and it was delightful. Very quick as well.
wings are always great, made them in a basket last night but I’ve done them on the grates before and that’s always good.
finally PSB is always a favorite of mine. Easy to deviate off the core recipe as well.
