A lot of apartments allow propane or pellets and not charcoal. He probably has a porch of sorts. He can't get an akorn imo
Anything on the patio that’s a “grill”. Guess you could plug it in inside or bring it 15 ft away from the building
I'd get a cheap electric now and still get the Pellet in the fall. You'll be compliant and get almost the same thing as propane. I got this https://www.lowes.com/pd/Char-Broil-Patio-Bistro-1-750-Watt-Black-Infrared-Electric-Grill/50240035 for like $79 bucks when I was in a an apartment and it worked fine.
I would wait for the pellet grill. I've never been a big fan of propane grills other than the pure convenience. When I was in an apartment I had a cast iron lodge mini grill. I still have it 15 years later. If you can use charcoal, it may be a good holdover until you get your smoker. I've seen them on sale as low as $80. http://shop.lodgemfg.com/camp-ovens-and-grills/cast-iron-sportsmans-grill.asp
Working on building the capital so I can enjoy that perk. The fact that I’m even remotely considering an infrared grill makes me want to go out and buy a place now.
ohh, yea the cheese 4 year old was helping and got a slice of cheese out of the fridge and put it on a chop
It's probably going to be sandwiches warmed up via sous vide. We ate one of the points and I have another one left. Probably 2.5ish pounds or so
I'm a huge fan of vacuum sealing smoked meats and warming it up in the sous vide. It comes out just as good or better sometimes than when it first came off. Would be nice to have a bunch of bags in the freezer. I shall hunt for them Monday
Bought a 13lb wagyu cross brisket, their briskets won 1st & 2nd at the Houston rodeo last year. I shall update y’all tomorrow with pictures
Question for the board- I am smoking a 5# pork butt and 4 full beef ribs, and I need to be done by a specific time for a party. I know how long they would take individually, but cooking them together will there be any additional time I need to account for? TIA
Ive signed up to be the head cook on a company team for a cookoff.... chili, beans, chicken, ribs, and dessert are the categories its a 5:30 am gates open, turn in at like 11:30 to noon event Ive done a couple of real competitions, but never something combo with beans and chili im good with ribs and chicken in 4 hours ir less, but chili and beans? i got lots of questions for the head cook meeting a week before the contest
Just plan on having them done a couple hours before you need them, wrap and rest in a cooler. If they take longer, you'll have plenty of wiggle room.
