It was all good last week. I go during the week in the mid morning and it’s not very crowded. Carts are wiped down, one lane entrance, lines on the ground for distancing, etc. It’s also way more accessible than the Brookhaven one. It was way better than Publix today. If I caught the rona it’s from today’s trip for Easter candy so my kids better be fucking thankful this weekend. Spoiler Narrator: They won’t be...
I'm in town in Kirkwood so the Brookhaven store is really my only option. And being it's not close by, I'll have to go on weekends, which kinda sucks because I assume they are typically slammed. I'm about to have a baby and maybe it's worth it for diapers alone
It was delivered from instacart or whatever the wife used and it was sliced about half through so that was to keep it from cooking unevenly.
That is what they always are at my Sam's club I was going to buy one recently but all of them were 17-18 pounds and I don't need that right now
Basically this https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/peruvian-style-roast-chicken-with-green-sauce.html
Originally an America’s test kitchen can be tweaked a lot. Great on just thighs or legs too I skip the mint because I never have it.
7 hours on the smoker wrap 4 hours in the oven at 250 I kept it wrapped and Also put it in my Dutch oven came out great
one was hardcore carnivore black (guess which one) and the other just salt, pepper and kinder’s woodfired garlic
Recipe looks great. Any reason to think it may not work in the infrared turkey fryer? May smoke it on the egg if not.
i have never used an air fryer in any capacity the marinade is a little messy but if the turkey fryer can do others I would think it would be great.
Sam's club is a weird place. Gonna really have to mentally prepare myself to buy enough paper towels for 4-6 months at a single time. A lot of just crap. I guess it's their audience but I'd love to buy some good healthy food in bulk. Not sure if Costco is a little better. Scanning on my phone and paying via app was pretty awesome. Ok ok ok... The meat. Yeah I'm good going there just for thr meat. 18# Brisket just for my wife and I. Gonna need all the leftover recipes. Then they had some. Pork butts for about $10 so snagged one too. They also had a 40# bag of pellets for $9. That's absurdly cheap. Hope it's good quality
Man, I got my foodsaver vacuum sealer atleast two years ago for like $30-40 and thought i might get a little use out of it. That bad boy is still going strong. Doesnt provide the thickest seal but if you double seal both ends, it works just as well. Great purchase. I use it all the time.
Just bought a very lightly used large BGE with shelves on both sides from a nearby seller. Came with the nest, cover, plate setter thing, and some other small stuff. Wife was on a work conference call in the bedroom and sent a link to a community yard sale page on Facebook. Oddly enough I was looking at Kamado joe stuff when she sent. I drove 2 min over to their house and gave it a good once over, mainly looking cracks, and then Venmo’d them. Picked up some lump on the way home and am burning it right now (wife already had dinner going). Got it up to about 550, now sitting at 500. BGE boyz, formally welcome me itt.
Yeah I've always wanted one of these things. If Imma be buying meet at the rate of 4# a pop I might need to do my own dividing up
The circle of bbq life is cooking 14lbs of pork butt or a whole packer or 3 fulls racks of ribs, vacuum sealing leftovers into 1-2lb portions, and reheating in sous vide straight from the freezer. It’s like having your own bbq restaurant at the house.
My electric smoker has been good, but I like stuff from my Weber kettle more. has me thinking of upgrading. overall thoughts on Ceramic vs Pellet? Always liked the idea of a BGE but the pellet seems more time saving my main issue now, I get a good smoke flavor, but my cabinet smoker won’t make a smoke ring or a good bark
