Let it get above 400 and probably could have flipped it earlier. You live and learn. I also just pulled some skin after pulling for a little snack
Two on the left were the below rub and Sweet Baby Ray's at the end. One on the left was salt and pepper with sauce from the OP. 6 Tablespoons paprika 2 Tablespoons ground black pepper 2 Tablespoons salt 2 Tablespoons sugar 1 Tablespoon chili powder 1 Tablespoon garlic powder 1 Tablespoon onion powder ½ teaspoon ground cayenne (red pepper)
Have you tried the lumberjack ones? I hear great things about them but haven’t tried them yet. https://bbqlumberjack.com/
And I just looked up, my local dealer for these pellets is a place right near my office The same place I visited twice and had long discussions about the pellet grills with the owner, she even remembered me But she didn't have the exact one I wanted and I found it across town May have to give it a bit before I go back in there
Potatoes smoked 30 minutes then cut in half, scooped out and stuffed with said bacon and cheese Back on the smoke for 20 or 30 minutes
Potatoes done Also decided to smoke some ground beef with taco seasoning for some simple tacos for dinner texasraider
If anyone ever turned down such an honor, it might be the first 3 listed here to avoid being grouped with the 4th
Lamb steaks, grilled veg, and roasted cauliflower. Also picked up some haydari and dolmas from our favorite Turkish restaurant.
Lamb is by far the #1 red meat consumed in our house. It may even be the #1 protein although we do eat a ton of shrimp
We're going to get another one of ours processed soon, but the local processor quit and everyone's booked.
first breakfast on the Blackstone and it was fantastic first smoke with the DigiQ and its so damn easy dont know why I didnt buy it sooner. more pics to come
Nole0515 are you using the digiq with a BGE? Also are those two small butts , two chucks? I can't tell.
Let me know what you think. Been looking at that the last couple of years and I’m just not sure if I’ll use it enough to justify buying it
I was gifted $250 on Amazon. I also bought the Napoleon 64000 basket. Figure I’ll do the staples, pastor, whole chicken, lamb and then it’s primary function will be fries and wings. The entire reason I got it was because I had the wings prepared in one and they were perfect. Figure if I can duplicate that effort it’ll pay for itself in a year.
I remember I was looking into whether there was a rotisserie available for the BGE and the company said they don't do it because the egg already provided the convection flow making it redundant. I tend to disagree though because I don't think you get the same self basting effect with just standard beer can chicken for example.
Pretty happy with my bbqguru. Had it on 250 for several hours locked in Sat and set temp alarms at 10 degree variation. Had to mess with the little valve that opens and shuts airflow . Then jacked it up to 350 for 2nd part of cook. No problem.
late post but B&B brand at academy are good pellets. $9.99/ 20lb bag. I was skeptical at first and did my research. After going through bout 60 lbs now, I’m impressed with them and saving money.
I heat my home with a pellet stove and can confirm that shitty pellets are shitty. I buy the best quality I can and it makes a huge difference in terms of efficiency. I go through 3.5 tons a year, point being even though it’s a smaller scale I’d think it correlates.
Place had a coal stove in it when we moved in and I could not get that fucker to work. Pissed me off to no end and coal is a mess. We also have oil, but don’t use it unless the house gets below 65. Live in northeast so it’s at or below freezing December through March. There are some warmer days in there but there are some colder days in November and April as well. Bringing this back on topic I reverse seared some delmonicos in freezing rain last night and it was worth it.
We have a large number of people in this area who still use pellets and wood stoves to heat their homes. Lots of old houses where retroing a furnace/AC is nearly impossible. It sucks to deal with.
Holy Voodoo is what I want to try the most. I’ve got honey hog hot already so I may have to do honey hog side by side for science.
