What is the best TV comedy spin-off show? Only one vote allowed Please see this post for the Drama Spin-Off thread. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/best-tv-spin-off-drama-division.183345/
the answer is Frasier and it's not even close but how the hell are you going to pose this question and not include The Simpsons or Family Matters? get it together Shawn god damn
You will. I think Cheers is incredibly meh and Frasier is one of my very favorite shows of all time. I can't encourage you enough to give it a try
It's retroactively known also known as Saved By the Bell: The Junior High Years but Good Morning, Miss Bliss is the OG name.
Much more loaded in the comedy division, and animated sometimes has an unfair advantage, but it is the Simpsons in this poll. King of the Hill is a grey area because it's obviously Tom Anderson re-imagined. Also, Beavis & Butt-head first appeared on Liquid Television. So, Daria and (and if you consider King), are 3rd generation spin-offs. If we're counting the Simpsons based off of a sketch comedy show, then MacGruber needs to be up there too. And are we listing What We Do in the Shadows? A TV show based off a movie.
This is where I'm at. I voted Frasier easily because I just can't view Simpsons as qualified. Re the Cheers question, it was pretty slow going in early seasons and found its stride eventually to become a Mt Rushmore sitcom. Frasier hit the ground running with the advantage of a well fleshed lead character. But they really nailed the support cast from jump.
Saved by the Bell isn't a spinoff of Good Morning, Miss Bliss, it was a repackaging of the same show.
