Going to Vegas for work in February and have 3 hour layovers at two terminals I’ve never been through before: STL on the way MDW on the way back Suggestions?
StL has a decent bar and grill called Three Kings or something like that. Midway is my home airport and I only eat at Big and Littles (tacos) or Woodgrain (wood fired pizza)
New Haven, CT (HVN): if you like bus terminals, this is the airport for you. I don’t think there’s anywhere to buy booze.
Had a flight diverted to STL for a few hours this summer. Had the Triple Dipper from B&G and then walked around drinking beer. They had signs that encouraged you to get your drinks to go and walk around so that was p cool
StL is a good airport for at least traveling through, no idea how it is for locals. I haven't been to this place in there but if you are like me and don't have status to access any other lounges, this looks intriguing: https://wingtipslounge.com/STL/
I caused a scene in the eating area by Qdoba (or was it currito?) when the bengals blew a lead against the buccaneers last year
I thought the signage could of been better directing you out of the airport. Last time I was there, I was delayed on arrival, rental car company gave away my rental, so I got the last rental car in MN from that off brand German provider, Sixt I think. This required taking a ride in an employee’s personal vehicle to a satellite lot. Car was shitty af but got me from a to b. Then this happened about 800 yards from the rental car return when I was headed back to the airport. Complete joke of a rental, I couldn’t of been going over 20 mph, I was creeping back, and then it just slid off the road in slow motion, took forever. People of MN were very kind and several stopped to offer help.
its a good solid airport. Easy to get in/out of from my experiences. And a cool Franco Harris statue.
Pittsburgh is a great airport Currently at Detroit Metro N Terminal and it’s fine. Had a $600 credit to burn before Monday so flew to Detroit, on ground for 15min and flying back to Midway
Cross-posting from the travel thread, love looking out the window as well: Flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage left 15 mins early so the pilot took a hot lap around Denali
Was in Indy this weekend and just booked a flight to Charlotte. CRAZY. Indy is def. nice and easy to navigate. Plus they have the no boarding pass needed security check. The area outside of security is great. Only minor issue is just TSA pre at one of the two terminals which adds all of a 45sec walk. New parking garage at Love is good, really easy if you’re checking bags and a quick exit out of the airport. Park on level 3 since that’s where the exit is.
Getting loaded at DCA next to a dude that could be Bernie Sanders. I have no advice. It's just an airport.
Flew into Louisville yesterday and out today. Not bad for a small airport. Now a layover in Minneapolis for the first time in my way to SF.
My understanding is that they are tearing C down once F is completed, that’s why they aren’t touching anything there. Edit: Check that, looks like they're going to mirror the renovations for A on the C Terminal https://www.constructiondive.com/ne...fw-announce-up-to-35b-capital-program/555217/
I live in the salt lake area now. The current SLC is solid. The new SLC is going to be amazing. Similar layout to a Denver and ATL but obviously not as big. Squatters, and Wasatch brewery will have spots there plus I believe one or two more. Largest Sky Club in the Delta network, and apparently a huge deck facing the eastern runway and the Wasatch mountains. Also, we’re getting full strength domestic beers starting in November.
About to miss my connection in Salt Lake and will have to wait 6 hours. I pray the Alcohol rules are kind.
Was there Monday. Had some decent tacos at a place in B terminal. Prior to flying into DFW, made it through security at SAN quicker than I did in Tallahassee. Was pretty impressed.
Have a 3+ hour layover at DTW Friday morning. Best place in the Delta terminal to grab breakfast and a few drinks?
The whole thing is a delta terminal. just make sure you walk between concourse A and B and see the psychedelic walkway haven’t really done breakfast there outside of something quick to eat. There’s good bars everywhere in there
Plum Market is good choice, although i don’t think they have seating. The whole terminal is a mile long. I recommend checking out the lights in the tunnel between the A and BC terminals like the guy above. Where you flying to?
