Also, last post: in the pilot, when gene is watching the tapes, the reflection in his glasses is also in color.
They’re probably way more creative than this, but my first thought would be unused takes/material that they have in the can. Maybe the phone just rings after Jimmy called the last one off.
My guess is the call goes unanswered. I’m hoping he doesn’t get away with this in the end, and that’s an easy way around both
Dudes I’m so sad this is all coming to an end. I know it’s dumb but I draw a pretty straight line of “prestige” tv shows Sopranos>Mad Men>Breaking Bad>GoT>Saul that have been an ongoing feature of most of my adult life. Coming to an end next week. Damn. Maybe I should have a kid or something lol

Still can't get over last night's episode. The way Gene held that telephone cord in the kitchen with Marion, I thought he was going to strangle her for a few seconds. This final season has been so damn good. If I were to rank all BB/BCS seasons, it would be very high on the list for me.
I almost feel like part of him wants to get caught. He was way too sloppy in the cancer guys house. I'm sure there's more I'm not digging in on, but that was my thought. The other jobs never took any physical items yet he did. His prints are all over, and you know his prints are flagged by the FBI.
That divorce paper scene was tough because you knew regular Jimmy was in there hurt so bad by this and his defense was to brush her off as Saul. It was a great encapsulation of Saul Goodman. Saul is really just slippin’ Jimmy with resources. I feel like that was probably the moment where he buried regular Jimmy so deep that he couldn’t get back out.
I think you can tell how messed up he is, even prior to the big gene scams, by the way he talked to Kim on the phone. He couldn’t even have a real conversation reconnecting with the person he cared most about without the schtik.
Not for some of it. He had them on when he was leaving, but I don't think he didn't when he was walking around with a drink of shuffling through the financial papers
For sure. The part where he almost walked out and then turned back around seemed to be something of a callback to when he shot the Davis and Main commercial and almost decided to wait to air it before choosing to send it in without permission.
They were thin rubber gloves so they were difficult to see in the black and white, but he was definitely wearing them when he was upstairs stealing everything and going through the paperwork.
It could be recent bias but if this shows finishes off appropriately, it's probably my number 1. I just have so much appreciation behind the craftsmanship that goes into each shot.
My heat was pounding during the call. As soon as the receptionist answered a call I could feel a response. It was wild. To lesser extend during Jimmy’s loft robbery adventure.
Its obviously been discussed before but it bears repeating just how insanely talented Gilligan and Gould are. The amount of creativity, foresight and direction it takes to pull off a hit show is ridiculously high and these guys put together arguably the finest drama in modern television and undoubtedly one of best of all time. And then they went and ran it back a second time all while keeping the writing, character development, story lines and entertainment quality just as absurdly high. It's almost beyond belief how impossibly good they've been over almost 15 years. They're undoubtedly among Sorkin and Simon as the greatest dramatic writers of this generation.
That bank statement showed $737k which was the same amount Walt thought he needed to take care of his family after he died. there’s no telling how many of those type things I never noticed
