Kinda wish this series had been based more on Mike at this point. Really enjoy the show, but the saul parts have been dragging a little bit lately

We know it is Mike who kills Leonel under Gus' orders after The Cousins' failed assassination attempt on Hank. I look forward to seeing what sets Mike up for filling his vendetta against The Cousins in Breaking Bad.

It has definitely made its Renaissance a little bit after the time show is supposed to be taking place. Much like Saul noticing the stick figure family on the back of the car in season 1 - both are iPhone era trends in a flip phone era show. not to say one couldn't have ordered a mule in ~2003.

 

By the end I wanted to punch Saul in the face for fucking with my wife's career. Seriously, would wife Kim

i enjoyed it. the inflatable dancing man made me laugh harder than it should. i did think it was kinda lazy they had jimmy not know his own bonus details. even a shitty lawyer would fine tooth their own contract

 

other than mike's issues with tuco/hector, what exactly has progressed from season 1?

it is almost the end of season 2, and jimmy/kim are just now discussing leaving their firms. this could have been done several episodes ago. just feel like they are dragging the jimmy/kim storyline way too much.

 

I'm still enjoying it but too a vastly lesser degree than last season. This season is like playing tiddlywinks with your grandma on a boring sunday when you were 7 years old. Nothing about it seems significant in any way shape or form.


That being said; The show is well shot, well acted, still decent writing, and it's not a dumb comic book show so I'm still all in waiting for some kind of payoff. I mean I like the characters and all but let's do something besides high school style courtship between two confused fifty year olds.

I'm at odds with myself for not enjoying this season as much. I'll bitch about it.. Then I'll go well it's not that bad asshole. I don't fucking know. It's not been great by any stretch is all I DO know.

 

Preview looks promising.

I wouldn't think so. Gus is pretty well established at this point in time, we just haven't met him yet. I could be wrong though.

That entire sequence was fantastic. Jimmy picking out his suits, the song, the cut away visuals. One of my favorite moments of this show.

 

I guess we don't know it, but I would imagine someone with the distribution network Gus has, he would have been established by this point in time. You could very well be right though.

 

i thought the scene with little jimmy in his dad's store was really good. kind of pinpoints where he decided fuck it, i'm doing shit my way.

Saul's storyline this season has been very underwhelming.

 

I remember when people thought this was as good as breaking bad. Outside of the mike storyline, I'm not that into it. I trust the writers that there is a purpose since they're geniuses, but I expect it every episode

Yea the suits were the closest thing we've seen to actual Saul coming out. Plus the bagpipes were fucking hilarious.

 

I enjoyed the episode. Season 1 was fairly slow so I'm not surprised by it in season 2.

 

Season 2 of The Wire was slow compared to other seasons but was essential to the show.

 

Yup first time you watch the Wire season 2 is a chore, future times its amazing.

I thought last episode was great - I like Jimmy's story line, Mike's is better- but both are nice

 

I've enjoyed this season. I can see how it could be taken as slow, but the episodes still seem to have flown by for me

 

am totally hooked on this show - pace is expected, think things will progressively pick up as we go from here
