Definitely make Texas play @ Houston. Texas refuses to acknowledge Houston athletics exists after an incident a few years back.
They did that 15 years ago and basically said we never do that shit again. Bring them here Labor Day weekend.
Having spent time in both, September in Texas and Florida are both hellish, but each have their own unique circles in Dante’s Inferno
Yeah, having been to games in early September in both locations, I can confidently say neither is any kind of punishment compared to the other. Both are pretty fucking bad.
I fail to see why that wouldn't be a stupid deal for Texas to have taken back then? $2.5 million buyout is nothing to them. No real upside.
Humidity also makes the cold colder imo. 30 degrees in Denver is a lot more tolerable than 30 degrees in Alabama.
You’re sweating in Phoenix, but it evaporates and cools you off. Like sweat is designed to do. The air in Florida is so saturated, the sweat just stays on you.
i think the biggest part of "cold weather" in alabama is how drastic the difference is in daytime and nighttime temps. 30 feels colder when it was 65 4 hours ago compared to 35 4 hours ago.
I was working in Houston over the winter and on a Friday morning in Houston it was 35 degrees and I was freezing my ass off. Flew home that evening and noticed it felt kind of warm so I checked the temperature and it said 21. Was not expecting that.
Howard has chosen to stay in the MEAC, despite an invite from the CAA to join the league. Gaither: "HU hired a consultant to help with its decision-making process as it weighed staying in the MEAC or joining the two conferences that offered invites. The consultant’s report came back with the recommendation of moving to the CAA. ... A source within the world of collegiate athletics confirms that things between the CAA and HU appeared to be headed in a positive direction as late as April." More from a Bison source: "We decided we’re going to still see if we can still make a second (Division I) black conference in the country work. We thought that if we left it would be a severe blow to the conference. We’re going to try — if everybody’s committed — if the other seven members are committed, we’re going to try to make this work. ... We’ve made the decision we’re going to stay committed to the MEAC. Nothing is forever. If the MEAC’s not viable, we may have to make a different call.”
In 2023, the ACC will adopt a 3-5-5 football scheduling model and all 14 schools will compete in one division. Teams will play 3 primary opponents annually + face the other 10 teams twice during the 4-year cycle, once at home and once on the road.
When your conference is composed of Duke Syracuse, Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, NC State, Boston College, etc it ain’t difficult to be “decent”
